My dog hates 'em too :( I feel real sorry for the two old labs in the b&b next door, students let loose with fireworks on the beach = endless night of bangs and whooshes

I warned Im Indoors not to take the dogs out
Even though Bob the Dog is chasing his own tail in the living room and generally trying to chew my cardigan
It was pretty quiet...sods law they're all set off as he leaves to house. One of the cats went out too, I'm not keen on it crossing its legs waiting to go out, the other ones asleep under the chair upstairs, and the other dog couldn't give damn. The kids in bed disappointed cause its so foggy he can't have his own personal display....we live on a hill and you can see all of HX's fireworks and over to Queensbury from here

So illegitimate so of a ***** set off a raft of them at 2am this morning.
OK, I don't mind them for 5th November. But why do we have to have them from mid October to end December.
tonight I have my 22month old grandson staying and the poor sod is crying and being kept awake when he is normally flat out by 7:30
The dog is on the sofa with me, and the cat is asleep, tis alright so far, though saturday will be different, they may well be home alone :(

That's students for you!
It's been relatively firework-free round here tonight, probably because it's been p*ss*ing it down.
Zuki growled once at a fairly loud bang, and all three cats looked up once at a really loud one, but apart from that they've snoozed through it all.

as i drove up one road tonight it was lined with kids firing fireworks at the cars going past!
"If they were invented tomorrow they would be banned immediately."
Never really seen the appeal myself, I grew out of my pyromania phase by the age of about 11, but apparently others don't :)
And home fireworks are utter toss anyway. Might aswell set a box of matches ablaze and fire it skyward with a fishing catapult whilst a friend pops a crisp packet, meanwhile the children proceed with the obligatory sarcastic "ooooohh, ahhhhhh, ohhhhhh"s.

Just taken this evening, they're not great but heyho. Now don't say I never give you anything :D
Some miserable old gits on here.
My next door neighbours the same. Here we are watching the local fireworks being set off everywhere, when the neighbour comes out, f's and raves and moans about the bloke accross the road, being in-considerate etc etc (ranting to no-one but the air), then slams the door shut.
He done exactly the same thing last year.
We took the p1ss. What a miserable old fart. Dogs and cats will survive, they will be fine, its just people are moody and need to lighten up.
I wonder if such miserable people also whinge about Halloween, Valentines day, and even Xmas.
 Cheer up miserable fecks.

Nope because they only last one day & if fireworks were the same there wouldn't be a problem, i enjoy a really good firework display but i don't want the bloody things going off from now until new years eve.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we're living in fascist state.
I once had a cat who loved to watch fireworks.

Yep, it's not my opinion hence the quotation marks. It's a frequently used "argument" though and to an extent it's certainly true. It's interesting to consider what things you could apply it to and why.
