Been riding since 1994 :o Can't believe it's been so long!
Bikes I've had:
Suzuki GSX250
Yamaha YPVS350
Kawasaki GPZ500S
Suzuki bandit 600N - I loved this bike :D
Suzuki SV650S
Cagiva Raptor 1000 - This was ace 'till it started to go wrong on me...
What I have now:
Yamaha FZX750 - had this about 10 years and the hubby uses it as a commuter
Kawasaki Z1000 - It's OK but not really right for me so is going soon. Any offers? :p
Bikes I've ridden:
Honda CB750 from about the year dot. It was a huge great big heavy beasty.
Kawasaki EN500 - probably the worst thing I've ever ridden.
Kawasaki ER500 - utterly sh4gged so pretty terrible to ride.
Suzuki GSXR750 (one of the early ones) - mental thing
Kawasaki GPZ750 turbo - good fun :D Turbo lag is, erm, interesting to say the least!
My favourite though - a honda 600 hornet. I loved that bike so am going to get one soon!
I'm just feeling curious this evening so..... how many and what bikes have you had (so far) in your however long biking career? :mrgreen:Well, 1 when i was 16, then cars until 11 years ago when i bought a scooter for getting to work, then the SV
So in therory 3 in 21 years, but in reality, 1 'real' bike in 10 years.

When I first passed my test I went every where on my bike and did not have a car for a lot of that time. Had full pannier / top box set and toured as well. The bike had clicked over 40K on the trip that I killed it on. I have put 17K on my current VFR since June 2007, so sometimes you just get out a lot.

- 2 years later once my 33bhp period expired I got a CBR400RR Tri Arm
- I then bought my 2000 Suzuki SV650S
- Only to be recently replaced by current bike, Triumph Speed Four :D
What I would call a sensible progression.

My biking career spans nearly 40yrs with a bit of a break in the middle. Nearly allways had a main bike and a runabout. My 1st SV had done 32000 miles? when I sold it to Jimmy Gulp. When I was younger I used to do a lot of mileage and I have always ridden all year round. I had a Honda Hawk as well!

by eck lozzo, you actually spent anytime out of your garage? you lucky sud.
I spent my late teens and 20s buying and selling bikes to keep a roof over my head and pay my daughter's maintenance money. Those bikes above are the ones I kept and used, there were some others I bought and sold on the same day, and a couple I bought and sold without even seeing while they were in my ownership.
At one point I had 7 immaculate RD400s in my garage, shed and dining room.

I'm just feeling curious this evening so..... how many and what bikes have you had (so far) in your however long biking career?
Two so far, first one of these in the same colour:

And then I had to down grade and get an SV ;)

Rubbish bikes, slow, won't go round corners, old, made of cheese etc...

Some were duffers. i have no idea why I ever bought a CM400... nasty piece of crap it was.
7x C50/70/90 Hondas make it sound like you're just trying to play the numbers gane ;)
Not at all, me and mates used to buy them to thrash around on village roads when we were lads, and they make excellent commuters if you have a big bike as well that you dont want to ride in winter. When I was poor they made perfect sense as a second bike. Back then you could have as many bikes as you liked on one Norwich Union Rider Policy which covered you to ride anything up to a certain engine size, so insuring them was never a bother. Bikes have always been cheap if you know where to buy.

But garage space rented out must be more profitable than 7 x Honda cubs ;)
how i loved the rider policy... thatll be an extra £10 sir and you can ride what ever u like (as long as you had a licence to ride it)
But garage space rented out must be more profitable than 7 x Honda cubs ;)
You don't think I kept those kinds of bikes in the garage do you? Workhorses always lived outside.
Range of Scramblers, Trail Bikes ect...
Road Bikes: Aprillia RS50, Kawa ER-5 then onto my current SV650S :)

Yep. I recall having a total of 13 road legal bikes in my possession once, and all of them were insured on one NU Rider policy up to 600cc. If I remember right it cost me about 85 quid a year. I never claimed for any accidents on my NU policies, only two thefts in about 13 years. Happy days
