Just a little fun question for you lot out there.

Have you recently played an album that you have not heard in a long time (say more than 10 years) and really enjoyed it?

I ask as I am currently at work with the 'Judgement Night' album on the trusty Ipod. Its a various artists album from a film...but that was terrible....music is well cool though.

one i always come back to but have never left it for 10 years, is Pulp Different Class.

Prolly my favorite album of all time.

Recently downloaded Dirk Wears White Sox, Adam and the Ants. That was pretty good. A few dodgy references to spastics but i guess it was the 70's/80's when spastics were all the rage....

Adam and the ants, I went through that last year after an inspired download session. It always makes me smile when it comes on (random) on the way to work:)

Killers by Iron Maiden...
I go ages with out listening to Maiden and then something switches in my head and I need a Maiden fix...

Last night was watching the old videos on You Tube, The Trooper, Number of the Beast and even a bit of newer stuff. Remember the Show they did with Simon Drake? Maiden and Magic (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NDdw9mPfWq4). Cool

Good call with Vulgar Display, I downloaded that a few months back after a friend lost my CD about 5 years ago. Another album that makes you skip down the street thinking of rainbows and little bunnies ;)

I popped "Welcome to the Pleasure Dome" by Frankie goes to Hollywood in the CD player as we went to bed. Been a while since I heard that. We forgot that it had so many cover versions on it. Mind you I fell asleep before it finished.

Mind you I have one old classic that I do keep playing despite it being years old now.
South of Heaven by Slayer.

Went solo, as did Mick Karn etc Came back as Rain Tree Crow for a bit.
Tbh I prefer Japan to their solo stuff, some of it was spankingly good.

A fair amount of my cds are old :( - goth, jazz, prog rock etc. I recently found this (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2fX6hV1kuWg) on youtube, hadn't heard it in years though

I plopped Gary Moore's After The War onto my CD player a few weeks back.

Certainly his most polished 'Rock' album- for production and sound. There are some great skits on there- Led Clones is fun, but also This Thing Called Love is a great take on the Van Halen vibe, without being too serious!

I like some of the songs off Wild Frontier (especially Over The Hills...- some great guitar stuff there for buffing up the technique), but it's such a budget album in some respects- the cheesy drum machines make it sound like a bit of a demo.

Ahh, Peter Steel and his chums. I saw them on October Rust Tour when they were supported by Entombed and Stuck Mojo. Type O sure do give a good show though, but Entombed frankly were amazing. It makes it hard to enjoy a headline band when the support band are so fantastic, but I still managed to jump up and down for a good couple of hours.

Now who remembers Fields of the Nephilim? Every now and again I have to dig out one of their albums and have a good Goth Sway to that. It can get a little maudling, so can't do it too often. Elizium usually does the trick.

Hmm, is it just me noticing this, or are there a lot of sad old Goths like myself frequenting this wonderful site? Well good for you Brothers and Sisters, keep that Goth flame dwindling in its darkend candle holder, you know you love it.
