Just bought a joe rocket alter ego textile jacket from m and p on offer, should arrive monday! Have a joe rocket 2 piece leathers and been very happy with them. Anyone got the textile jacket? had a good experience?

I had an Alter Ego Textile Jacket (well, technically I still have it). Expensive for what it is (cost me about £150 and that was heavily discounted, but I've since seen it for as little as £75) and rather fragile, but their customer service was great. Given that the Joe Rocket trousers I bought also broke v. quickly (again repaired v. quickly thanks to their great customer service), I decided their kit wasn't up to much and bought HG stuff instead, which aside from the zips breaking occassionally (replaced v. swiftly), has coped far better with heavy use/crashes.

The inner mesh bit used in conjunction with a long sleeved t-shirt makes riding on those unbearably hot days (where leathers/winter textiles really are out of the question) much better and whilst it'd do b-all to prevent road rash, the armour should provide some half-decent impact protection.

Had it for about a month now, using every day and i think it's great. The only annoying zip and one that may break is the inner pocket on the left hand side but everything else seems fairly durable. not a huge fan of the waterproof inner jacket, so taken that out, but its still waterproof and warm. Got mine for 60 or 70 from m and p, well worth it i'd say - plenty of protection too!
