Having purchased a new computer with Vista I would now like to transfer my music and photo's from my old PC that has XP as the OS. I would like to invest in a portable external drive (I already have one in mind) to assist me in this.
So, what I want to do is put all the files from the old PC onto the portable external drive. As they will be coming from an XP OS, will I be able to use them with my Vista machine? What I am concerned about is when I by the drive do I format it to the relevant OS...this would mean that I stick my xp driven files on the external drive and then can't use them on my vista...is this making sense? I know what I'm trying to say....
I think the answer is yes - you can. However, it's always worth asking those that know better...
This is the one I'd like to get...
