Well after a colleague at work cooked me a nice dish of mashed potato, kale and boiled sausage a few days ago I thought I'd try this dutch "specialty" a go. Suffice to say that when in the supermarket earlier this evening I bought the wrong type of sausage, it was more your traditional grill/fry sausage than boil type of sausage. Still although it looked a little anaemic after 25 mins of boiling it still tasted pretty good and looked respectable when hidden under a gallon of gravy.
Moral of the story: Make sure your sauage is the right one for the job in hand.
