I've never actually seen one just the pictures.
I've been told they make a strange noise because of the way the water cooling works.
I thiught the whole 'Silk' thing was pretty cool. Water cooled 2 stroke that was so quick they banned it from racing in 1920 odd? :D
/geek
I dont think it was the squirell engine; was there not another one from the 50's that Silk used as a base for his?

Nope, it was the Scott Flying Squirrel to be precise.

Vertamatti ?
Nah not sure now , small cylinder and a 2 stroke pipe bulge in the Piccy , I bloody know this , grey and black bodywork it has with a dotted pattern on it , possibly red striping as well . This was featured in one of my Supermoto mags about 4 years ago .... hmmmm
It`s a niche Supermoto and I think the factory was bought out by somebody else as well recently .
xXBADGERXx
10-01-09, 01:41 AM
It`s a Gas Gas 2 Stroke Supermoto I`m sure of it , the one where you could adjust the power output of the Powervalve to Sensible , Crazy or Wheely+Scorching Black Rubber marks

In fact its this very 2001 Gas Gas SM250 :D
http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/1049914/
It squirtainly is.
I've ridden one of these too. It rates as one of the most barking mad bikes I have ever ridden. Never before had I ridden a bike that would genuinely wheelie in top gear on normal acceleration. I came out of a petrol station (very common occurance if you are using one) and wheelied through every gear up to about 90mph, when the power hit a brick wall.... mental I tell you
xXBADGERXx
10-01-09, 01:54 AM
I seriously considered one of these as a Hooligan tool a couple of years ago , that`s why my mind clicked when I saw the piccy , but from new they were around the 3.5k mark and were highly volatile .
Right I shall sniff out an oddity for you all :D

I was going to say Kawasaki Ninja250r , but those rearsets are throwing me right off , seen that peg style before somewhere .
What else is throwing me is the Rearset seems to be mounted to the swingarm Pivot , something smells very European about this bike but I am probably wrong .
Actually I realised what I am going to do about this one , I am going back to bed to give it no thought whatsoever , wait for somebody else to tell me what it is so I can go "Aaaaah yeah of course" , rather than sit here trawling images of rearsets for one distinctly styled peg that actually turns up on an Aussie Gixxer forum and the guy doesn`t know what they are called or where he got them from , but he`s trying his best to bodge them onto his Gixxer . True Story as well .

Some of the ducati monsters have rearsets that kinda wrap round the swingarm pivot like that. S4R with some aftermarket ones?
KTM SuperDuke R with aftermarket rearsets and belly pan?
I've seen that style of rearset before somewhere and it's bugging me

Think you might have to give a clue Lozzo.
From what I can see, it's a twin with the shock mounted under the swing arm, but can't find anything that matches it. I am thinking Italian exotica.
It's not Italian, but it's kinda classed as exotica

Sidepanel is wrong for a 550. I'd go with Z650 also as whatever you can see matches what I've googled so far, it's definitely not a Z750E because I have a left sidepanel here and it's different.
