'ello .org, can you help?

I'm a bit stumped as to how to get the song title and artist to show while the actual player program is minimized. So I don't have to keep opening up media player to find out what the song is. I've had it before but have looked at the menus and can't find an option to add it in.

Hope this makes sense, I can't do geeky talk, with comps anyway, its no doubt a really simple button I need to click... :D

put it in mini-mode and I think you get album art, song title, length etc when you hover the mouse over it.

Not sure though as it's been a while..... use a proper OS these days.

Nope no luck. I've tried different skin modes and all it says is Windows Media Player  I know I could just keep maximising it but just for ease of use I wanted to know if I could do it.

Ta for the reply simesb :)

Simesb is right, and here is a handy little video to guide you through the process: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/player/howto/UsingMiniPlayer.asx

EDIT: Mini-mode isn't a skin, it turns Media Player 9 (or above) into a toolbar, and you have buttons there that affect playback. It also lists song information.

Hmm I have done that however, its not quite what I meant... Only when I hover the mouse the mini-mode does the song info come up, its not directly in the media player tab as part of the taskbar, so I can read it whilst typing. Perhaps its not possible, however I am now curious as to if it is or not lol.

Does that make sense?

edit: have just noticed the minimode flags up a little window telling me which song is playing as it starts, nifty! Happy with that hehe. Cheers fellas.

In geek talk, what you're wanting, is for Windows Media Player to have some sort of OSD (On Screen Display).

I'm not sure if that's possible, but for that purpose, I use foobar2000 (http://foobar2000.org/), which will replace Windows Media Player, but only supports audio. EDIT: It's free too, which is a bonus. :)
