it shouldnt freeze in the freezer should it? mine did tho? but why? solid it was.

they drink it in Iceland or something because the alcohol is infective at low temperatures so it can be drunk like water, then when you go into the warm your pi55ed as a fart :p

It depends how strong the vodka is as to what temperature it freezes.

Smirnoff export (as it's 40% or thereabouts) freezes at roughly -9C. The weaker the vodka, the quicker it freezes.

Mine only freezes if someone has diluted it with water. Otherwise it goes syrupy. Mine is smirnoff too.

Maybe you just have a great freezer.

Yup, all vodka gets thicker as it approaches freezing point. Great to drink it as a sludge & wait for it to warm up. I used to do that a lot in my student days, and just as Wideboy said, it gets you absolutely wasted!

Got 2 bottles in the freezer and niether have frozen, reckon you had a dodgy bottle, or the missus tipped it away and filled it with water :D

Smirnoff Red @ 37% has had lumps of ice in it before

Smirnoff Blue @ 40% goes like syrup - and is much much nicer.


I recommend drinking it in quad shots in a pint of coke. Mega.

There's a vodka bar just around the corner from where I went to college. Any flavour you can imagine, and if they don't sell it, they'd make it especially for you the next time you were in. :)

I don't drink the stuff, I prefer whisky any day. But it would never even cross my mind to put the bottle in the freezer. Doesn't the bottle crack?

Cheap vodka freezes and sadly Smirnoff Vodka is cheap.

Absolute Vodka was my favourite, kept it in the freezer and it turned to syrup. Lovely.
