Unable to acces the .org for two days?

Strange that I could not access the .org for over two days now. I noticed my firewall had blocked an inbound event which I agreed to block. Since then I have not been able to get on this forum. So after trying loads of things I decided to allow this in the firewall and now its all working again. Anybody know what this is?

Without the headers from the firewall logs you pulled the above from, I'm just guessing. But you basically blocked an incoming ICMP ping.

Ping is only really used to determine if a computer is online or not. It doesn't do anything else.

I haven't verified it, but I'd put money on the fact that if you ping mail.wenn.com it would have an IP address of 79.123.35.161.

As TSM said, t'si nothing to worry about. Stange that blocking a ping would prevent access to the forum, but still. Unless the forum uses the same IP (or is on the same subnet) and you blocked all incoming from that IP (or subnet), then that would explain it.

mail.wenn.com will have an IP of 79.123.35.140 its a diffrent machine

ive just not set the PTR records to the forum machine, there are reasons i wont go into here.

but overall the system has been in place for a few months now and nothing has been changed for ages.
