View Full Version : Got pushed off

I'm sitting on the side of the road (purley way if you're local) waiting for the RAC. Gear lever snapped, indy smashed, clutch lever blob gone again. I filtered through the middle of stationnary traffic, had to stop cos i ran out of room. I sit waiting and an old retard in a transit minibus behind me on my right starts nudging the back of my bike. I turn around and wave thinking the cu nt hasn't seen me but he eyeballs me. And keeps pushing. Down i go, and i am so angry. I go to the van and start screaming at him, says he didn't see me. Had to be dragged away by somebody cos i wanted to kick his face in. Grrr

I once embedded my fist into somebodies bonnet once for something similar, he wanted to get out and challenge me but his miss' convinced him not to. Guess that was for the best really.

Glad you are okay though, there are a lot of kn*bs on the road now.

I think you should have opened his van door and proceeded to smash seven shades of sh1t€ out of his ill sighted face. He's using his van as a deadly weapon so by battering some sense into him you're simply acting in self defence. Yes/no?
Then again probably better to just remain above such anger and see if the authorities can't punish his idiocy on your behalf.
Once you're okay that's all grand so.

Why did you let him push you off? :???:

just got home, RAC dude drilled out the lever and put a bolt through at roadside which was nice. he said there's 4 bike tech's in the london area and two where down the road from me, result.

i hope you punched off one of his wing mirrors with your nicely kevlar backed gloves!

thats what i went over to do, but i remembered i was wearing winter gloves so no hard bits.
although it wasn't his mirrors i wanted to smash!

got his details and a witness, same guy who pulled me out of the van.

the cum stain then said he is certain filtering is illegal, gave it all the 'poor me, i've got parkinsons, my wifes ill, i cant of hit you there's no damage on the van... blah blah

then he made me really angry!

' i've been riding a harley for years.. '

he was pushing my back wheel with his front bumper, i had a lorry in front of me that there was no space to get round

jimmy__riddle

depending on what happened when you approached his van and the witness' opinion i would report it to the police. As long as he cant pull the whole 'feeling in danger from you' thing, and the witness agrees he was the party in the wrong theres nothing to lose.

Slight weight disadvantage with an SV when compared to a mini bus.

then go through insurance and rape him with the bill

Yes it should be reported as per the Road Traffic Act. Take your D/L insurance and MOT(if you need one) with you, fill in da form takes about 15 minutes depeding on how busy is it and wheter the guy behind is slow.

I'm surprised you're even asking the question. I would have called the police there and then, someone has (as far as you're concerned) attempted to cause you harm with their motor-vehicle. It's not even driving without due care etc.

"I thought filtering was illegal so I thought I'd go down the vigilante route". 'kin hell, that makes it even worse!
Don't believe a word of his excuses either imo.

Call the police.

Aye, report it. Without any witnesses the old bill won't go anywhere with it but you reporting it covers you. You don't want the old bill knocking on your door with a BS report from the van driver saying you caused an accident and took off without reporting it.

that happened to me once.

A white van went through a red light at a junction, just skimmed me but knocked me down and just drove off.

I was ok and wasnt going to claim as no real damage so I didnt report it. Only to get a court summons afew weeks later after a member of the public took my number plate and reported me

I wrote a letter explaining what had happened and it was dropped, but we can all live without extra stress ;)

I got hit up the back a few years back on my old 125 some silly old cogger in a pug 205 that wasnt looking where he was going, it was a really bad smash. i was lucky that a biker stopped because he saw it happen to me and he was threatenin to kill the bloke, he was going mad.

I love bikers!

Dangerous Dave

Highly unlikely, unless you have the full registration number a witness or even the driver admitting it the police will drop it. They won't investigate further, look and compare damage to both bike and van, and will start with the usual underfunded and no man power.

I would have called the police there and then, even if the traffic was held up for a while - the guy is obviously a danger and shouldnt be on the road - Parkinsons or not - he drove straight into you and then tried to deny it was his fault  hope they get him off the road.

PS - maybe his Parkinsons is the problem - perhaps he was playing the sympathy card?

Perhaps we should all enact vigilante justice on a .Org rideout? :smt067

What a complete ******. Report it. As others have said, you really should of called the police there & then, as he was in effect making an attempt at your life.

TBH though, you controlled yourself well. I'd of probably had a go at the witness for trying to drag me away. But at least someone would of called the police. :)

ah, well you're going wrong here matey. you need some of these like myself...

absolutely brilliant for the almost a year that i've had them. waterproof, warm, great protection and you can still punch wing mirrors ;) only downside to them is that they're a little bulky, but soon get used to it. http://www.feridax.com/graphics_cache/5d/e3/53e14cb833928a1672a9e879dc23.jpg?o=TzoxMjoiRHluYW1 pY0ltYWdlIjoxMzp7czoyNDoiQmFzZUltYWdlRGlyUGh5c2ljY WxQYXRoIjtzOjMyOiIvdmFyL3d3dy9odG1sL2ZlcmlkYXgvcmV zb3VyY2VzLyI7czoyNToiQ2FjaGVJbWFnZURpclBoeXNpY2FsU GF0aCI7czo1NToiL3Zhci93d3cvaHRtbC9mZXJpZGF4L3B1Ymx pYy9vbnJvYWRsaXZlL2dyYXBoaWNzX2NhY2hlLyI7czoyMDoiQ 2FjaGVJbWFnZURpcldlYlBhdGgiO3M6Mzg6Imh0dHA6Ly93d3c uZmVyaWRheC5jb20vZ3JhcGhpY3NfY2FjaGUvIjtzOjE3OiJCY XNlSW1hZ2VGaWxlbmFtZSI7czoyODoiaW1hZ2VzL2Jhc2VfcHJ vZHVjdHMvNjE3LmpwZyI7czo3OiJNYXhTaXplIjtzOjM6IjYwM CI7czoxMDoiQ29udHJhaW5CeSI7czo1OiJXSURUSCI7czoxNDo iV2F0ZXJtYXJrSW1hZ2UiO3M6MzE6ImltYWdlcy93YXRlcm1hc mtzL3dhdGVybWFyay5wbmciO3M6MTI6IkltYWdlSGFzaERpciI 7czo2OiI1ZC9lMy8iO3M6MTc6IkltYWdlSGFzaEZpbGVuYW1lI jtzOjI4OiI1M2UxNGNiODMzOTI4YTE2NzJhOWU4NzlkYzIzIjt zOjE3OiJCYXNlSW1hZ2VGaWxlVHlwZSI7czo0OiIuSlBHIjtzO jE4OiJDYWNoZUltYWdlRmlsZVR5cGUiO3M6MzoianBnIjtzOjE wOiJGaW5hbFdpZHRoIjtOO3M6MTE6IkZpbmFsSGVpZ2h0IjtOO 30=

that is the way ahead

went to police station today, they didn't want to know and i had to argue for 10 minutes before they would give me a form. i'm going to take it as far as i can, looks like it'll be a struggle though

how much trouble could i get into if his details appeared online?

i agree with sv_rory, bikers rock. the guy who pulled me off the scrotum faced muppet was a biker, as was the RAC guy. they both calmed me down a lot.

i'm not sure if i can really get away with claiming any injuries, partly because of the very low speed but mostly because of my behaviour immediately afterwoods! my textiles seem to have got scuffed and burnt on the downpipe however:)

there's no damage to the van or the back of bike just the left side but at least i've got a witness

rather annoyingly the bike is now running rough, 1 and a half cylinders only

two off's in 6 weeks of riding, i'm ashamed to be me!

Id find where the stupid scroat lives and just smash 7 buckets of shat out of him, that would make you feel better, i think if i was in your postion i would end up serving time but thats probably because im so fed up with drivers hitting me

i would of refused to move the bike until the police come claiming the guy was threatening to drive off. Then they would of arrested him and i'd imagine if it's a busy road they'd be there sharpish.

Whats the law on holding a driving licence if you have parkinsons?

or

Whats the law on a minibus licence if you have parkinsons? Driving yourself when infirm is one thing but driving passengers when you are a dithering and myopic old fart is a different matter.

I came very close to dragging someone out of a minibus when they waved me across (as a pedestrian) and then drove into me. I immediately got up and yanked their door open only to find the driver was an elderly man who was absolutely bricking it and clearly hadn't intended to drive into me. In a moment of weakness/pity I let it slide and walked off, in hindsight, I should have contacted the police. If I thought he had done it intentionally, he'd of gotten a shoeing, so well done on your restraint.

i would contact DVLA say this person hit you, they said they had parkinsons and had an attack of the illness, they may want a doctors report from him to say he is fit to drive and if he has been visiting doctor loads then they may remove his license...

we are obliged in the field of working with drug and alcohol misusers to inform DVLA if we have concerns about someones ability to drive... or know they drive and do so intoxicated...

give it a try...

Many years ago I was stopped at a red light in Antibe (south France) when a woman in a puegot started pushing my back wheel. I smacked my fist down on her bonnet at which point she stopped and started accusing me of running into her (in reverse on a bike).

Fortunately I had about 10 witnesses who all confirmed that she had been pushing my bike (well CX500 so not really a bike) and despite her protests the local frog police sent me on my way whilst they took her details.

Only problem, height of summer in south of France, riding from camp site to beach. The only protection my hands had was the skin covering my knuckles. For 2 days I was convinced I had bust my hand on her bonnet.

supply them with photos of the bike before the accident. terlling them that the speedo wasnt cracked there and you wont accept the bike untill its 100% fixed

if they come out with the line again prove the damage was done by the drop ask them to prove other wise. same for the running issues. do they know whats causing the missfire?? if its something thats not broken ie its a dodgy lead then i can under stand but if its because of something breaking while the bike droped then they will have to replace it
