Hi, both my rev counter and speedo need replacing (not functioning at the mo... both are knackered) - sv650 99 curvy

The speedo seems to be running off a wire that is fixed to the front end... so I guess its digital right?

Just wondered what my options are... I mean, obviously I could replace the clocks for an identical one (at present its in kmph, but converted to be mph)

I would quite like an oil pressure guage tho... any ideas folks?

Could I easily fit clocks on a newer sv? - lcd readout ones say?

What sort of £ for 2nd hand units?

Advice appreciated!!!

the sv650 s ones are reasonably common and ive seen UK ones on the likes of ebay for 30-100 (lord knows how much they are new)
the sv650 (naked model) commands a lot more ive see 1set secondhand in the last year and they went for about 130 if i remember.

But... can one from an sv650 s be fitted to a naked model?

the one on the naked one is shorter, the sv650s one is routed differently and longer with different headlight and sidelight connectors- without checking I would imagine the connection to the main loom is the same. If that makes sense??

not forgetting the pointy sv clocks- but the naked and faired of them are identical (the clocks) headligts at different still but I can't comment on tying to fit these to the older curvy sv's

Hope this helps

I'm selling a speedo from a curvy S but I guess you have a naked.

Big Ape has converted a pointy speedo to fit on his naked. Not sure if he has all the functions working though. I would PM him.

Have you checked the speedo rotor on the front wheel? this tends to fail and is a very common fault, this could be the cause not the actual main dash itself. also i would clean the connectors and check there not damp

Hi, large delay answering here! been without speedo for a bit now  so guna have to get this sorted.

Its not the speedo rotor, I know what caused it. The voltage reg. when mental, and fried the clocks (not to mention pretty much every bulb, and the ignition unit!) - Everything has been replaced and fixed now, except for the speedo.

The speedo is all the way round the clock, with or without the wires connected...

So, I am looking for a set of clocks for my SV99 curcy naked, or advice about other clocks that would be the easiest to fit - easiest, I am not expectign easy (not that lucky!) - I don't mind swapping connectors etc, so long as the looms are wired the same way.

Any advice anyone???

Hmm, yer I get ya! Well, if it's a casse of chopping off old connectors and either soldering or crimping on new ones, that's no probs.

I am a little worried about how the clocks would work with my rental bars (with raisers)

Hmmmm

Just out of interest, how did you replace the rev counter? I binned my curvy and smashed up the rev counter but can't find any for sale except orginial Suzuki ones.
