I have a bath overflow turney thing which when turned lifts the stopper out of the plug hole so the bath drains. The overflow isn't tight anymore and I've flooded downstairs a little bit. I can't for the life of me figure out how to undo the turney overflow bit! I can't see any screws or fittings of any sort. I've tried prizing it off too but no joy.

HEEEELLLPPP!!!

The overflow is leaking itself, the bath isn't overflowing! Thing is I can't take the bloody thing off to see how to tighten it up or re-seal it. I'll take some pics.

Oddly, I remembered while I was in the shower this morning.

On ours, at the bottom of the twisty knob, there is a cut out with a grub screw. Loosen that then the twisty bit should pull off (getting technical here).

From what I remember, if you hold the back section you should be able to tighten the front bit up. Or remove it and reseal it.

Ta Daaaa...................

Hopefully make things a bit clearer.

My highly technical terms decoded:

M = Back Bit
K = Front Bit
I = Twisty Knob
H = Grub Screw

Cheers Pmapp. That's very similar to what I have. Mine has ahole rightwhere thearoowpoint endsfor the letter I. I have located and removed a grub screw but STILL CANNOT REMOVE IT! I've tried penetrating spray and limelight but the thing won't move. Next stop I think will be a large holesaw and a trip to screwfix for a new one.

Done it! Broke it off in the end. Managed to snap steel in the process. Shopping time....
