My PS3 is Boogared

Just finished level 3 of Call of Duty 5 World at war (anniversary present from Kerri).

Then the screen went blank and froze and now it won't read any games.
Reckon the BlueRay drive is knackered

:(

Really annoyed as I was literally excited like a child when I was putting it into the machine.

Just phoned sony. They confirmed that the Laser is fubared. They are coming to collect it on Friday and it will be returned to me 10 days later.

Good Service but if the damn thing wasn't made in China in the first place they wouldn't have a 65% failure rate on these consoles.

Had the same with mine and they replaced it with a 'reconditioned' unit. The turnaroudn was about 3 days so not too bad.

TBH I think those figures are all BS. I've had 6 XB360's since it launched and so far only 1 PS3. My poor brother is on XB number 8!!

My Wii however is fine and dandy. :)

360s are terrible for failures. i dont know anyone who hasnt had to send theirs back at least once. the stats i heard were that 360s have a 33% chance of failure a year, so after 3 years its probably gonna go.

I think they must have run out of units to replace mine with :)

I would prefer mine back tho as although it is 7months old it is pretty much brand new condition and hasn't had much useage.

You should consider yourself lucky! At work, we have a project that has a 99% fault rate. We're still sending units out of the door very rapidly, despite the client knowing the fault rate!

had my xbox 2years, it gets abused and knocked about it bags in cars etc, left on for hours and hours and has yet to give me a single problem.


(think its because im so bloddy fast at PGR :D)
