View Full Version : A message from Neio.
He has asked me to pass this on to the ORG:
As I have been effectively banned from the forum by means of restricted access I have contacted the Mods and decided to leave the forum for good.
Therefore this is my goodbye to all of you and the few good friends I have made whilst I have been here, you know who you are.
Those that I do get on with have my contact details anyhow, so if you want to go for a ride etc next year you know how to get hold of me. If not look me up on Facebook or via someone who has my details.
I know I wont be missed at all by some, but hey bothered.
Asta la vista to those I do get on with hope to ride with you again soon.
Laters my friend :salut:

It's a shame that people end up leaving because of 'forum fights'. Keep it safe Neio.

Look after yourself Neio, good luck with the career, and stay safe riding.

All the best mate. Didn't get a chance to meet you. If I am over that way, I will look you up and we'll go out for a hoon, so you can blast past me in racing crouch (remember that convo lol).
Oh yeah if you read this, my facebook is Stu Plows :)
Not sure what he did except some extreme views in the past, but I think its a shame really.

What it is mate, Neio has a different point of view to others a lot of the time, yes he may let it get out of hand some (maybe a lot) of the time. But, in his defence, some people haven't got round to using the resources of the site, more importantly, their computer mouses properly.

to be honest theres probably alot more to it than that. and as for using the ignore function bit late after the horse as bolted - i.e. a bit late to press the button when you've already been attacked or insulted

One of the reasons I drifted away from here was that a number of users constantly pushed the rules to the edge & beyond and gained enjoyment out of disrupting what was (and still is) one of the best bike forums on the net.
It's an Internet forum, run by people who devote their own time to making sure it's a happy place. The last thing admins & mods need is a persistant competition with people who don't give a t0ss for others. So if you consistantly wind them up, you'll get what's owed to you (I think they call that Karma).
Stick to the rules (both written & unwritten) and everybody will be fine. It's not a democracy, it's run by a council of people (the mod team) who discuss virtually all "punishments" before it's handed out. For those that want to continue to make it a nice place to be there shouldn't be any problems, for those that don't like the set up, you know where the door is.....
Simple really

Neio in real life is actually a nice guy. Its a shame it doesn't come across in some of his posts. There are more eloquent ways of putting points across without insults and blatant swearing on a U rated forum.
Its a shame he feels that he has to leave through the cause and effects of his posts.
I for one wouldn't turn my back if I met him again, and as far as I'm concerned today is another day, and if Neio was here now, it would be business as usual.
well you have to obey the rules
however much you disagree
obviously not neio
could be the rebel in him
anytime rules is broke it often offends
really that simple
even i know that

+1 sometimes I come across as a complete ****, I'm completely rubbish at putting my point across on a forum, I have some odd yet strong views and opinions..... I'm rubbish at typing.
Yet in person I'm fairly shy and quite, and I hope the majority of people I have met off here (which is actually quite a few people now) would say I'm nice and friendly.

Yes G, but you don't go straight in purposely to make the flames go higher, you obviously think in your odd way how to purvey your thoughts in as best a way you can. Unfortunately Neio goes in with whatever shoe size he has, and the mods, have obviously made a decision and thought the best way was to restrict access. Its not the first time, perhaps he would have learnt the first time too.
I can see both sides of the coin, but as one of those at the brunt of the flame war the other day, i can see this had to be dealt with, the internet is a virtual place, but still theres a person on the receiving end of whatever you write, and some of them can actually be very fragile and be seriously insulted about something small....most of those will have forgotten about it too by the end of the day.
So in those famous words...move along, nothing to see here.

I don't get it. People have different views and express them in different ways. Dunno what the restricted access is but I guess it's a ban anyway if you can't post. A real shame when people feel they have to leave. There are some on here that I don't really like, so I just ignore em. No one in my ignore list in my profile though (yet).
I've met Neio a few times. Seemed a decent chap.

No offence to Neio, we all have different views and opinions but he sometimes doesn't understand this.
This forum is a community, we enjoy the company and help one another out. We have our views and experiences which we can share amongst eachother, we are not here to recieve abuse for expressing our opinions.
I think this thread should be locked before it turns into something else.

We all make dodgy posts from time to time, you included Dizzy - i said from time to time ;). If the restricting of access was deemed necessary then fair enough, it just seems a bit crap Neio felt the need to leave. The tendency to get heated easily isn't good in general but like you say he's a decent fella in the flesh, just a shame some things don't come across that way all the time.
Take care fella.

Yup, we all do:cool: difference being, the majority, try to think before writing it. Hey some of us are so good at the insult we can do it in a polite enough manner to get away with it;-)........ and if we make the mistake of upsetting anyone by accident, we openly apologise, Blue did the other night, although I can't see why he had to apologise, he has an eloquent way of insulting within his discussion with you(if that makes sense) along with his humour, and he gets openly insulted back, but in a humourous fashion from all.
I like this forum a lot, have met a lot of nice folk (Neio included) and intend to carry on meeting them.

Indeed, this is the first forum I came to when I started riding, If I'm not riding on my own, then I'm normally riding with only people I have met on here.
One of the best and most approachable forums I have ever been involved with.
No offence to Neio, we all have different views and opinions but he sometimes doesn't understand this.
+1 - sometimes the way you express yourself is what makes all the difference
Neil has strong views on a range of subjects and he doesn't care if they offend people. I think that we ought to learn something from that. You can't walk on eggshells all the time.
I wasn't online much on the day of the 'flame war' and I don't know what was said so I can't comment on that.
But I will miss him. A good bloke IMHO.

I think flame war was a bit of an exaggeration, things did seem to get taken a bit too personally, lots of salt is needed for these sort of situations!!!
Having met Neio a few times I can honestly say that in person he is nothing like the way he posts sometimes. He has often posted stuff that has got my back up, but knowing Neio I just ignored it, as I do most things that wind me up. We can't all agree about everything all the time, and sometimes I'm sure people post just to get a reaction.
Neio has never been anything but polite to Pete and myself. Well, apart from saying to me on an NW weekend 'If you and Pete come past me again scaring the carp out of me with that can I will bludgeon you both to death' He was joking.......................I think:D

Door will always be open and I hope to see you on a ride out, less greenery in ya boots next time hey ;)
Ride safe over the winter months, you have my facebook so drop me a line from time to time just to say hi !

from what i have read in threads, Neio had a self opinionated view of stuff which i actually liked. yes he came across quite strong sometimes but his views never really offended me as i took everything he said with a pinch of salt. i have seen much worse in other MC forums and this is why i like the org. if we all had the same views and opinions then i think the world would be quite a boring place....

you never upset me mate.:smt039
To be fair to the mods, they didn't ban him for life. I think it's a great shame that Neio is choosing not to sit out his restriction and come back :D He'll be missed. It's great to have different characters on here, and if one of those characters has wayout views then everyone soon learns that and can deal with them accordingly (as Lissa said) whether that's Ignore/a pinch of salt or whatever. This place would be pretty boring if everyone just agreed with each other, someone starts a thread & the only response is +1 :smt102
IMO I didn't think Neio's posts were that offensive & as said it's impossible to truely swear on here ;) But that's really irrelevant as I said the mods didn't ban him & I'm sure a suspension was justified if that's the conclusion they came to.
Hope you'll take away some fond memories Neio :D

How did he get banned?
Neio in real life is actually a nice guy.
+1. I've seen a side to him that few have, and I doubt few will do. Namely when Jason came off his pan.
I think this thread should be locked before it turns into something else.
I don't see a reason for that personally, but it would be understandable.

I'm damned if I do. I'm damned if i dont....
I cannot allow the actions of a small minority of users to disrupt the forum. Be that by breaking rules. Or posting for effect to get a rise out of people or to provoke a reponse.
Be clear I didnt ban Neio I retricted his forum access to allow a period of cooling off whilst we discussed what we did. However I did say that as far as i was concerned the chances of re-instigation would be small.
Lets be clear on some facts here.
1. Neio has already served 1 Ban for breaking forum rules ( he told a moderator to go and "F*ck yourself you st*pid c*nt" so already not in my good books.
2. I discover via the grapevine that Neio has admited that his soul purpose of using the forum is to disrupt it and cause trouble and he gives not one t*ss about any of us that do use the forum. Remember this under another guise could be classed as trolling.
3. He then waits for a contoversial thread to be started and then wades in with his admitedly strong viewpoints he doesnt back off and keeps pushing his point.
So ask yourselves, if this was a new user or somebody we didnt know. Would you tolerate it ? Or would you all be up in arms about it ? Or are we in danger of tolerating one persons behaviour because "its just what he does"
This action wasnt taken lightly, its something that we thought long and hard about.
If you break the rules, whether written or unwritten ( and I think we all know whats acceptable and whats not and TBH it doesnt need writing down ) and also you p*ss the moderator team off in the process then I'm sorry but you need to face up to that fact that there might be consequences of your behaviour.
I suggest that we all move on now and I'm going to lock this thread. I'm happy to discuss via PM but this kind of thread does nobody any favours.
I have met Neio a few times he's always been a friendly personable guy in the flesh, sadly he chooses to be other than this when using the forum.
