Black wheels

I quite fancy black wheels for my K8, do I...
- powder coat the existing wheels (£40 per wheel +vat & pp)
- look for 2nd hand (were they available for the SV...I've seen a few on here with black wheels)
- look for new (as above, I know they're on the K9, did other models have them
- keep the dark grey ones I have and spend the money on the kids/missus for Xmas

I voted option 1, but thinking about it a bit more option 4 makes sense right now... do the wheels after the winter.

It would cost you more than £80 to get a secondhand set of SV wheels, most are snapped up for Minitwins.

I reckon that's the way I'll go, plus, with having 4 kids, I'm sure they could club together and get them done for me as a Chrimbo prezzie! :D

What risks are there of the powder coating getting scratched etc?

The only issue you will have is having to remove and refit the tyres to get the wheels powdercoated, and not having the use of the bike for a while.

Find another K8 owner with the grey bike who wants to swap (stupidly, the black bike has grey wheels and the grey bike black wheels, IIRC).

OK people have said wheels get snapped up for minitwins. Yes they do, but you can always resell your own wheels and get back most of the dosh after maybe a fortnight. Only cost you P+P then really.
