So for you who are wise in the ways of science... [/sir bedevere] You should be able to do the sums.

And see that considering the micron pipes as McP, the fuelcan as Nt (noisy tw4t), and the rearsets as TGR, you could derive an equation and express this as:
(McP + Nt)^TGR = One total pain in the f##king ****.

Basically the high level pipe is in the space the brake levers rose joint needs to occupy. Bugger.

Am having to extend the collector pipe backwards a bit. Meh!

Pics to follow when I've finished it off.

So how long is that aluminium can going to last? I'm preety sure they don't make exhaust systems out of tin cans for a reason :smt102

Awesome. I've used the odd can of pop as packing material for ill-fitting slip-on cans before, but that's genious.

If you'd have thought about it though, being black, you should have slipped a Relentless can in there...:)

It won't go anywhere under that clamp. What I can't seem to understand is how that bodge could possibly fix the problem he had with the rearsets fouling the zort...perhaps I'm missing somethink

missyburd
21-11-08, 02:47 PM
No I was thinking more about the metal resisting the heat of the exhaust?

dizzyblonde
21-11-08, 02:52 PM
ahh but how do you know its an ally can, it could be a steel one...may I suggest if you are going any where this weekend...wear some ear protection...lol

yorkie_chris
21-11-08, 06:59 PM
Well the can is simply joining together the collector and the extension piece behind it... It's not actually got gas passing through it, just whatever blows out of the couple of thou gap between the pipe ends.

For those who've used them it's doing the exact same job as the reconnection sleeve that comes with some slip on exhausts.

As for the ali withstanding the heat... well we soon find out. Still on after 220 miles today.

Been looking at them on ebay. About £200. The silver ones look nice but I don't like the carbon heel plate

yorkie_chris
21-11-08, 09:07 PM
So fit a different heelplate. Stock one would probably fit even.
