Spose this'll be for all those that service their own bikes etc. Sid, YC etc will prob be able to make some good suggestions. Whats the best for all round tasks? Y'know things that need doing etc on servicing.

Gonna be popping over to Mikes to learn a few bits off him. So gonna need some grease for certain tasks and will want it for myself for when I know how to do little bits.

Will this do the trick...? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150279857463

Castrol LM or Putoline Multi-Purpose is what I use for general maintenance.

certain tasks

Depends what you're doing with it really?

I normally have four types, General (or LM will do),bearing, red rubber and copper, they all have their own job to do.

Cheers Mark.

Just make sure you use the right grease on the right bits.

LM ( Lithium multipurpose ) grease will do most stuff - wheel bearings and head bearings etc.

Moly grease for plain bearings and shafts ( LM with Moly in )

Copper slip for stuff you want to be able to undo easily ...

Don't use Moly grease for rolling bearings as they can tend to skid and wear flats on the rollers.

Don't bother buying a full tub stu I can send you a bit if you want. About a tablespoon full will do about 20 calipers.

Nah gotta start somewhere ain't I kid, thanks for the offer though :) Wanna be able to do a few bits on my own and save money. Obviously hard tasks I will leave to the pro's.

Copper is for stopping bolts seizing.

General grease is for mechanical moving parts

Red Rubber is for brakes

Oh and touch of copper grease on brake caliper shim if it squeals a bit
