She'll be around shortly to explain, but I thought I'd get the news in first so you can all tell her what a daft bugger she is ...

Hey guys,

Cheers for all your well-wishing. I'm quite concussed and have a very sore back/neck/shoulders/head/everything.

So here is how it really went:

I was travelling at about 670mph when a kitten ran out into the road. I had to stand up on the bike and jump over the kitteh to avoid it. In the process I slipped on some ectoplasm that the Ghost Busters had left lying around, pivoted the bike in mid-air, and landed on my head so hard it left a crater in the road and the shock of my landing could be felt all the way to Devon.

Yes. That's the opiates talking.

Actually, I took a right out of the Dental Hospital, slipped on some ice/diesel goo, was going to lowside into a bus shelter (I made people run!), caught it, wobbled, almost highsided, caught it, proceeded to consider lowsiding again on more goo, caught it, and then off I flipped, over the bars, cleared some air and launched myself over to the other side of the road, head connected with road and skidded along. Didn't even bother bracing for impact with my hands (the TOPS of my gloves are scuffed from where the rest of me landed on them and skidded some more). Bounced down the road on my head with bike following me, then when I stopped I remembered the massive bus coming in the opposite direction, so there was no time to count limbs. There were two guys running at me at this point who helped me pick the bike up, there was oil EVERYWHERE.

This happened at a heady 20mph-ish. I am SO rock n roll.

Got everything tidied up (ie. picked up bike remnants from the road) and got myself off to A&E, who said I was concussed. Well done, Sherlocks. Had to go back to A&E later for a CAT scan as I was dizzy, seeing double and aboarding the chunderbus. But apparently there is nothing wrong with my brain case or its contents. There was much rejoicing.

Bike is now at Hunts for assessment looking very poorly. The entire left side is binned. Cracked engine casing, all fairing panels on the left, nose cone, fairing brackets, indicators, footpeg, gear lever, bar end, bent bars, screen.... The list goes on. I'm pretty upset about it. Might well be a write-off.

If any of you have any top tips regarding insurance lark and what to do I'd appreciate them. Looks like I might just ask Hunts to make it roadworthy again and then just get plastics on ye olde eBay. Good job I got myself the MOST COMMON COLOUR EVER. Grr. Stupid American paint job.

Anyhoo. Reading all of that I realise the drugs are still talking, so I'm pretty glad I took the day off from delving into people's mouths with high speed rotary instruments and I shall now rest my aching self.

Cheers dudes, you rock many a sock.

MJ xx

Well done girl, so you did a MotoGP highside like FG1 did:cool:

Oil everywhere? likely to be petrol too flinging out of the carbs( or whatever the equivalent is on injections) mine did the same, it had a big wee up the pavement!

At least you had an audience of old ladies in the bus shelter(probably the most exciting run of their lives for a while) oooo girl on a bike its preposterous;)

Get it assessed for damage, it''' be a defo write off, with plastics shagged, n the usual levers, if its engine casings are peeing oil, it depends where from and if its worth repairing. You can buy bike back and rebuild em, but if its custom paint job is it really worth it.
Glad yor sense of humour has not taken a beating, you'll be ok in a day or two......rock on lass!

Ouchy. Well, glad you lived to tell the tale.

Sounds like you'll claim on your insurance and have to take the hit. Pain in the **** but it's the way of things unless you have photo evidence that it was a bus or of the vehicle dumping any diesel etc. If it was ice then you could always try to sue god? :flower: Just a thought. Fairings? What you want them for?

It's pretty much all cosmetics and should be pretty cheap to put back on road... personally I wouldn't bother with insurance, they'll roger you well properly next year if you claim.

The engine casing needs looking at carefully though, if it's been pushed in too far and nudged the crank then you could have problems but you'd have to take the casing off and have a look

As for nothing wrong with your brain case... I demand a recount!

Yeah but you forget that some of us like to ride our bikes looking pristine, not all of us like the idea of a rat on the road:) by the sounds of it, and the only way of getting her pristine tupperware of death back on the road (if at all) would be to go insurance route and deal with it appropriately

Not all of us are within reach of kind mucky mechanical types that know what they are doing to repair it either...I'm lucky in that respect...cause if I didn't have one of those Im Indoors wouldn't so it:rolleyes:

update on the sorry looking yellow menace...

the quote i got to fix her would have classed it an insurance write-off. woo. because it is all cosmetic work it can actually be fixed. my go-to guy now has the bike and he'll fix it without claiming on the insurance for around 500 squids. my insurance excess was 350 anyway so i saw no point in being raped by them on contributions next year and paying 350 for the privilege of them writing my love off. ixnay to that idea.

currently the parts are all ordered, my hero will fit them in the week, panels to be painted on friday, colour-matched blabla, all systems go.

the world is looking up ever so slightly. i'd still appreciate it if upstairs could refrain from the jokes for a while though.

and i am still sky high on a 5 day opiate binge.

thanks again for all your concerns.

keep it lit.
