View Full Version : Leather Opinions please???
Have narrowed down my choices to these two. Teknic Violator or Teknic Chicane. Both are two pieces. Violators for £300 or Chicane for £250 without knee sliders.

- Has anyone owned either of these or any Teknic leathers in general???
- Are there any weak points to them???
- If there is nothing wrong with these, should i fork out the extra £50 for violators???
- If these are rubbish what alternatives do i have???
Thanks in advance for anyone that offers suggestions and/or advice :-D

You going to the NEC, take a look what is on offer at the bike show before you make your choice? Sorry can't help you technically with those 2 choices.
I have RST and they are very comfy and I was very surprised as they didn't need breaking in. Not even stretched with my big ass in them.

No i'm not. I can't make it unfortunately. Wish i could though, sounds like it is quite good.
Supposedly very good leathers....I believe blue uses the brand.....not sure about those specific styles......I would personally avoid RST after seeing on two ocassions seems splitting just by bending over.

The Violater has full perforations for ventillation. If you ride in hot weather that would be a must have for me,as leathers get too hot for comfort. Then you tend not to wear it which defeats the idea.
I haven't any experience of these suits, but I prefer the look of the Violator - less power ranger...

The picture on the chicane set doesn't look the best, but then i'd get it in black i think which does look ok.

I've got the Violator jacket, and plain "Sport" leather trousers again by Teknic which zip to the jacket. It's been my only set of leathers so have not got anything to compare them to. They do seem well made and well armoured for the price, I have found them comfy etc although the side "flashes" on the jacket are material not leather so don't know how they would stand up in a spill, but it does mean they are nice and cool in the summer.
I have these leathers. I am happy with them, can't think of anything I don't like. Apart from you buy them as a set and the jacket could do with being a tad larger for me.
I couldn't get a larger jacket but it fits, all be it a bit snug.
This is the one I have

Am i right in thinking i read a thread about an impressive highside on a roundabout??? Or was that someone else. How did the leathers fair in the off if i am thinking of the right person???
Right person, wrong clothing.
I had Frank Thomas textiles on.
The jacket has a couple of holes in the arms, a bit of piping has come unstitched and a shoulder flap has come unstitched.
Don't tell anybody but I had jeans and long johns on as I was only going local. My long johns have a hole in the knee but the jeans don't.......work that one out.

Hmm once when YC was on his 125, he came off only wearing jeans, had a mark on his leg where he'd scraped it on the tarmac but his jeans looked like new! Very odd. But then a good pair of jeans is better than nothing :)
