One of my cats was naughty the other day. My bathroom is down stairs, and at the moment my bath doesn't have a panel on it. Under the bath its a concrete floor....and he peeed. It honks, it really stinks......how the hell do I get rid of the smell, as its concrete its soaked in, and anything you stick on it, soaks in, and heeeeeeeelp it smells:(

p.s no saying to drown the cat in the bath either:rolleyes: or flushing it down the loo..as thats upstairs

Get Matt to help combat the smells, doubt it would be too difficult :D

So you can access the concrete floor easy enough then? Would bicarbonate of soda be worth a shot, that's a good neutraliser of smells.

doubt you will get it out, probably best to get some sealant on it or something

Nah, the best way is to have a nasty kebab and then make a worse smell to cover up the orginal smell.

Get some dis-infectant on it, should help the smell and make the kitty run.

stick a bag of charcoal under there and it should take away any smells

Plenty of neat bleach usually kill most odours, and pretty much everything else too!

ahh now thats the thing about bleach, isn't it ammonia based.....which means it would attract kitty to do it more?

Wideboy

put a PVA wash over it, seal the nastiness in :batman:

Use the cat as a sponge in a bucket of bleach. You should get rid of the smell and also prevent the smell from happening again all at the same time.

Isn't bleach chlorine based?

Put the panel back! Or maybe just chicken wire to keep him out?

Isn't bleach chlorine based?
General bleach is Sodium Hypochlorite, if memory serves, so yes.

nope, Dogs and cats absolutely detest the smell of ammonia

vanilla pods would mask the smell... but your best bet would be pets at home or the like and get some anti-kittypee stuff from them

the ammonia will stop your kitty from going there again...

the only way of getting rid of the smell is by sealing the concrete floor or using some form of enzyme on the offending area.
Chances are though, that sealing it is the only way.

Well when you do eventually get rid of it, wash everything down with cleaning agent that has a nice lemony smell as the cat'll hate it....although then it mightn't come in the house at all

Poor you! Have you maybe tried a strong smelling aromatherapy oil? or try this?

Bleach your cement floors and bare walls. Although this method is widely disputed because of the deadly reaction bleach has with ammonia (which is found in cat urine), if you go about it carefully, it can be an effective way to kick the urine smell out of your life for good. First, wash the soiled area with any appropriate cleaner you have that DOES NOT contain ammonia. Once clean, wipe the area down with fresh water to remove any residue left behind by the cleaner. Next, do it again. I know it sounds laborious, but trust me, this works. After your second washing and wiping, employ your bleach. In a clean spray bottle you can pick up from the beauty section of any Target store, mix a 10:1 water to bleach solution. Make sure the area you are cleaning in is well ventilated, put on some rubber gloves and get to work. Spray on lightly, let sit for about 30 seconds, and wipe off with a clean damp rag.
