View Full Version : Flying with your helmet :)
Ok, so off to the Motorbike show next week and i was just wondering if anyone has bought a helmet there and brought it back as
a) hand luggage or b) it had to be checked in luggage?
Any advice?
BTW flying BMIBaby if that makes any difference.

you could wear it, there is no rule about hats?
otherwise it could be put in hand luggage (just) but it will not leave much room for anything else.

hand luggage size is 50 x 40 x 20
not sure what size an Arai is but it is wider than 20cm

+1 :):D
I would try to take it on with you. It's not that bulky.

With BMI, they have (or do in Brum) a seperate checking area for unusual or fragile items. You can take it there and pay a little extra for it to be booked in and dealt as a fragile item.......I am pretty sure a lid will not fit as "hand luggage".

Ive never had a bother taking a helmet as hand luggage, flown on most of the buget airlines with one. just make sure its only the one piece that you have.

+ 1, Stiggy wears his with no problem :)
I flew on a small plane up to Bradford, everyone else had to check their laptops and handbags practically into the hold at the stepsof the plane, but they knew I had to keep my helmet with me & they let me :)
cheers for the replys folks
