Where can I get custom length brake hoses? Not braided. Just standard:)

No point using rubber.
You can make your own braided.

Don't know about standard but Hel and Goodridge offer custom length braided ones which will cost not much more depending on length.

Why must they be rubber?

Which will be wrong :-P
You're seriously mental to want rubber hoses! They will be hard to find, will cost more than braided and be knackered within 5 years.
If you want them to look OEM, use black braid, or matching your bikes colour, or cover them in heatshrink sleeve.

The material of the hose does NOTHING to the power of the brakes unless your lever is coming back to the bar as it is now.
You are developing pressure in the line, slight expansion takes up volume but pressure is the same.

New rubber and new braided are the same, what braided offer is longevity because they don't start to bulge like rubber hoses.
There is no difference in power, a slight difference in feel through the lever and consistency is the main difference with braided lines.

I've heard other peoples comments but to date I have never had an issues.
I don't want them too powerful.
Goodridge have a range called colour flex which (so you can have black if you want) with various other fittings they supply allow you to do anything you want.

if you want lesser performance then leave some air in when you bleed :smt083

Little stuff, like paul the 6ths kit which had one banjo pointing the wrong way. Just inconvenient.

You could look round your bike shop for a bike that has longer cables and buy those OEM ones, the naked SV has longer cables than the faired I think, if it's an SV you're looking for.

The pointy's a PITA because it's a one piece hose. Better to go for a full 2 line kit.

Yeah that's what I'm doing. It's not for the sv, well it is, but it's gsxr lines I have just now, but they are a single hose too.
Also need to get a banjo bolt brake switch so that I can remove the old switch and have the lever at a lower angle. Where can I get good quality ones?
And I take it you can't adjust when they activate?

You can't adjust them, they activate on pressure.
