Had a good day out with the missus and baba at the NEC.
Got a very nice Frank Thomas jacket and leggings.
Lots a freebies and babes, er bikes I mean!
Like the new look for the Hayabusa and the Honda concept is ( IMO ) fantastic.
To all that are going in the next week....enjoy :-)

I enojyed going today, great to sit on bikes you always wondered about. The Honda concept is ridiculous, a quick faff up cos they haven't got anything special to show. Wheels that can't turn is a pretty far out concept for a bike! The Gladius looks gay, that's not an insult, it's just how it looks in person.

Yeah good day, but tiring, I missed the Gladius and the Honda concept as I was juggling my time between photos/browsing & running around searching for leathers for the wife (Thanks GirlsBike2! Wonder if it was Jo (?) off here that helped us :D), and new boots for me...I don't like the look of many boots these days but settled on the TCX Competizione S (sp?)!

My first time there and I was glad I made the effort. Bought a paddock stand and a few other bits. Took some photos of the bikes (ok and a couple of the ladies).
For me, the speed triple was favourite bike of the show. Good as it maybe, the Street just doesn't cut it in the looks department next to the Speed. Definitely on the short list if I trade in the SV next year. All in all very enjoyable.

Had a good there as well. although the drive there and back was horrible. Freezing fog most of the way! urgh.

Anyhoo if your after some textiles on the cheep wow theres some ight bargins near the off road bit/wall of death area. ft jckets for 40 quid and trousers for the same.

I got some of that fog wax type stuff (fund out this morning it doesnt work on my coated glasses, drat)

busters ac50 for a tenner?

i missed out on all the freebies. There were lots of people signing stuff but i had no idea who they are.

Theres some nice ladies about. The one on the ngk stand is worth a look but she had a face like a slapped **** when i saw her. Maybe thats because she saw me too?

Some nice bikes. I want a street tripple now :) also did anyone try the 1100 monster? crushed my nuts :(

The gladius i thourght was a nice little bike and its smaller than the sv im sure?

good stuff for my first show :) could have spent a bloody fortune :)

Also thers a guy selling that spray that you put on ur numberplate that he says stops u getting flashed. Ill save u 20 quid! it doesnt work. there was a guy there that had it last year and he was saying its bobbins as he got done :)

Me and the missus went yesterday, had a good day but didn't buy anything. Was my firdt ride on the SV after passing my test, 100 mile round trip in freezing fog. Was a little cool by the time we got home! Loved the SV, took any corners very gingerly though. Roll on some good weather.

Went today, was pretty good. Highlight was seeing JT and Crash playing. He was damn good . If you there and he playing, think he is on both days next weekend then it well worth watching.

Interesting. I've seen this said a few times and even in the mags.

At the moment, they have the best overall sports bike. Outstanding" and "perfect" says the mags about the new Fireblade.
They have the best 600 sports bike. "Honda, this is as good as it gets, please don't change anything" Bike said about the CBR600RR

...and have serious contenders at, or near the top of every other class.

So why do they need to release anything this year? They're at the top. You can't whinge that a company that has the best there is out there hasn't made then even better.

And could it be that the reason they haven't launched anything this year is that they are planning something *really* special for 2009 and need the extra time to complete it?

The V4 Concept in road going trim? Something as special as the R1 was back in 98?

I went on Saturday, had been looking forward to it for ages. went round the show 2-3 times and saw different bits each time. tried on an alpinestars jacket 3 times before eventually buying it heh. came back with 300 pictures, 100 up on last year heh.
lots of interesting things to see,
the bat pod is neat.
was nice to see my favourite bike last year is still my fave this year (Sprint ST) just seems the right size for me.
the Honda DN01 seems weird, might be good for some people but its so shaped that any taller people can't fit on it, kinda a downside for a bike with no adjustment like a car.
anyway, really enjoyed it, hope everyone else has as much fun as I did.
oh, saw the usual famous faces too, that was nice, didn't queue up though, life's too short. (or at least the show is heh)

Good day there yesterday (apart from the 7.5 hour drive back, thanks to all the rubber-neckers crawling past the two accidents on the M6...)

Loads of cracking bikes and ladies on display, oh and who was it that got the last Demo Run on the Ducati 848...? Oh, that would be me then!

What a machine, lovely lovely bike, but I could never live with one. Mirrors are there for show, you can see NOTHING in them, NOT A THING!!! Uncomfortable, cramped, but once we got out onto the back roads near the NEC and I opened it up... Wow!!!!!

was thinking of going down on the last day sunday - would you say its worth it or will it all be winding up?

I want to go, but from Blackpool is is 50 and 3.5 hours each way on train. 2.5 hours on bike, but weather isn't good enough I feel like risking it. Getting there soaked wouldn't make for a fun day out.

Went today and wasn't totally convinced that it was worth the 17 pounds it cost me to get in! There didn't seem to be a lot actually going on, was basically just a market with a couple of 'ride a bike' things like offroad section etc. Was good the have the opportunity to sit on some nice bikes though.

Went today, billy no mates, all on my own from Felixstowe. Asked a couple of chaps at work, but one didn't (he'd rather pay full price at Hein Gerike) and the other didn't because he didn't know when his mates were going. But because of wife's shifts today was the oly day I could go.

But was worth the trip, as I got a nice Arai to replace my uncomfortble and noisey Airoh. Tried on a Schuberth S1 Pro, but I wasn't convinced at £380 whether it was worth it, wasn't very comfortable. But the lady trying to sell it to me used to have a Curvy she said.

Arai cost me £199, although I nearly bought another at £280 (fancy paint job)

Got some custom moulded ear plugs, some alloy polishing stuff & some stainless stuff from the Pro Bolt stand. Forgot to get some new gloves & chickened out on buying a one piece leathers. But there were some bargins about.

Will probably go to the Excell show, as most of the market stands were the same at both shows.

Didn't get time to see any of the bikes, although I saw a few nice rear ends :cyclopsani:

And I got a back protector insert for my leathers, plus my car got free grit blasting twice on the M6, on the way home. Glad I wasn't on the SV, a couple of guys on Beemers got caught by the gritting wagons. Not nice!

totally agree, went yesterday and had 2 mooching mates... including the little thief breakfast stop, lunch and mac-D's on the way home it cost me the thick end of £100 bloody quid.

however there was some sweet bikes, novel ideas for customising and some nice ladieys... ohhh yeahhhhhhhhhhh.

pics to be uploaded shortly. including pics of some absolute 'DOG' bikes... such as the new buell... whats going on there ehh?? front mounted panniers!!!!

I usually just go around in a T Shirt & Jeans Hovis, its never been cold in the 6 years ive been going to the show. The lights alone are hot enough to keep you warm.

T'was a good day out tbh, heard plenty of mixed reviews but i enjoyed it, plenty of bikes on show (both good and bad) and some good savings to be made. I got a pair of arlen ness white boots for £100 from the J&S stand which are retailing at £170 so i'm pretty happy with that!

Ended up turning around and coming home. :(
Ice, snow blizzards, skidding/crashed lorry and traffic.

We'd done 40 miles in an hour and a half.

Looks like its the weekend instead then.

We went today, and beyond Leeds, the weather was ok. Certainly no snow to worry about. We got there just after 11, no queues to get into the NEC, and to be honest it was pretty dead. I think the weather put a lot of people off coming south and Im glad we went today as its been great just mooching about without having to try and beat the crowds.

Dont like the new Gladius, I like the GP style optional exhaust but thats about it. Put my name down for a test on the KTM 690SM so look forward to being contacted about that, and definitely going to sort a test on a Street Triple. After seeing the new Z750, really like the look of that too (In green) so might sort myself a test on that also. Spent nothing on myself but did get a few Christmas presents.

Went today with my Son. Got there early and managed to book a ride out on the Street Triple. Loved it, despite the weather. A great bike, make sure you book the test; it'll be worth it.

been today. first bike show. had top fun with my brother and our friend. drove from norwich in the car - glad we didnt ride, it was so icy and cold.

Picked up a nice set of FT 2 piece leathers in the end of day sales so im well happy.

Sorry, but im not a fan of the gladius. i think a monster is a better investment.

Was good to see toselands band play and to get to sit on some nice bikes.

what on earth is going on with the new R1's headlights and the front end of that buell?? hehehe

Went today, bike wise it could have been better. Got meself a new lid at a good price as my current one got damaged a while back. Also ordered a fender extender for the MT-03 so it should help keep the cr@p off, I've been waiting ages for one for this bike. Over all though I saved enough pennies on purchases to pay for the admission/petrol/parking to make it a well worthwhile trip.
