Watching the Long Way Round.....never a good idea.

I'm getting the urge to do another dirkonadakar....just wondering if it could be done on a moped. I wonder how hard it would be to get some knobbly tires.

I kinda know what I need to take on the trip, less is more. Maps, gps, spare pair of pants, toothbrush, tire irons...oh & heavy duty pain killers ;o)

Kaz/Mong would be easier on a lighter, nimble bike......

Someone feel free to talk me out of it!

go for it!

What did you take last time, that you think you didn't need?

I've always thought the LWR guys seem to carry too much.
Read Mondo Enduro. You'll be trawling ebay for a DR350 afterwards ;)

You should go on an old Honda C90. They seem to go on forever and are used all over the world - you could have built a whole new bike out of parts about three times over by the end of the run. ;)

hmm, on second thoughts it might be worth waiting a few months. It's a bit cold in Russia this time of year.

Them mongolian yak-herders use mopeds for the job. I don't see why you'd need anything more elaborate to do the longest pizza delivery in the world.

:D I can just imagine trying to protect the pizza from over zealous custom officials, and wondering why you have L plates .

And at least this time you'll know how to handle contracts for shipping the bike back...

The lengths some people will go to in order to avoid talking to a woman amaze me.

2 wheels at the front will confuse russian border guards more than a set of l-plates
