Not yet ! Working on it ..... Santa may come early :)

I am not sure if I should or not, would it be wrong to have an identical bike to someone I will be going riding with alot? Like his and her bikes? Should I keep mine half faired. LOL

And I have just bought some R&G's for mine and would need to buy more ...... mmm decisions

Same lowers, different fitting kit...radiator is different (width changed) on later bikes, but not sure when it changed (from K4, or K5?).

You could speak to R&G and find out how much they will rob you for the larger metal brackets or try and source some and sell yours off on here.

WRONG !!!!!

K4-K8 are all the same

The K3 was different.

Thats not to say that the lowers from a K3 wouldn't fit, but I would be wary.

K3 was slightly different dimentionally here and there, mainly at the back end tho.

The fairing lowers are identical mouldings from 2003 to present though, which is what Shelly was asking about.

And I just realised that I misread the post I was referring to (skipped the paint code bit) due to the fact that I was more interested in pointing out that the K3 (or SV1.0 as I think of it*) is different to the K4( SV1.1) onwards as many people dont know that and end up with bits that dont fit.

I DID however mention in my edit that the lowers may be the same on all pointies.

* The curvy SV is the SV0.1 prototype, this can be seen as they had to use a tubey frame and mis-shapen plastics while they got things right)

Aye, it is the fitting kit which changed slightly.

Woohoo I WAS right

Does that mean that Lozzo was wrong.......... :)

No. I was right when I said the mouldings were the same, the fitting kit is different for a K3 as they use a radiator of different dimensions to other models.

Shelly using K5 onwards lowers on a K4 should be ok, as I am sure they share the same radiator pattern

Ah but I was arguing K3 vs all other years :)

Ahhh but as a set with the K3 mounting kit it wouldnt fit - so I WAS right.

but on a technicality AND only by a whisker :) :)

Oh and dont worry - I know I will pay for this next time I see you ........................... :D

They will fit straight on, but there will be one less fixing each side where the brackets mount to the rad sides. No biggy really and easy to sort.

I got a set for the fully faired for about a tenner, delivered, off eBay, ya just need to keep your eyes open!

F what people think, if you want it fully faired then do it, me and Kate have identical bikes apart from colour, even getting matching private plates, now that's wrong, and I don't care!

Same lowers, different fitting kit...radiator is different (width changed) on later bikes, but not sure when it changed (from K4, or K5?).

Ooh, forgot about that. It changes at K4 and became slightly wider, the lowers fit straight into the rad anyway so I don't think it affects much.

EBAY!!!

Lowers ARE all identical (got 3 sets from various years to prove!), K3 Rad was different as mentioned but doesn't affect mounting much, if at all, as far as I know.

The rear end is identical apart from the subframe and the black panels below the riders seat and the undertray/tool kit location which are different to allow the seat to be lower.

EDIT: I see the argument was already had, I really should rear right to the end before posting! It seems that although there were 3 different view points, everybody was right!!

Well I may not be purchasing the lowers, £190 on flea bay with a day to go. I want them but not that much.

I already have the fitting kit from my other lowers, infact I still have my other lowers, right had side trashed. Wonder if it would be cheaper me getting the one side mended, do you think it can be done easily?

She still looks shiney even when she's trashed lol

That shouldn't be too hard for a decent body shop to fix for ya. Take it in for a quote, though I recon a ton should get that sorted for ya, depends how much building up and shaping there is to do on the worn away bits.

Bit of filler, some sand paper, and you are ready to spray.
