Ill be tucking into some lovely Christmas dinner with the East Anglian lot. Shame I really wanted to go but the only thing I wanted to do was sit on a 848 and and 1098 but I suppose £17 for the pleasure of that is a bit steep. Ill just go to a showroom. :)

Sorry knee didn't stand up that long, just to much walking I'm afraid.
was fubar'd by about 1 or so, left early.
Cheers Mark.
That was a shame Mark, would love to have met you as you've given me invaluble help with the Triumph!
Oh yes, and I must add, I'm really proud of myself today!
I had another set of ear plugs fitted, without passing out this time!!! I'd been putting it off for so long because of the last time (9 years ago). But went for it, apparently it's quite common, but today was fine, the chap kept me talking. Excellent!
Only down side is that it does look like I'm losing my hearing, will have to get it checked out.

This is probably a really daft question but how do they fit you for ear plugs? Do they stick a mould in and leave it to set? LOL.
Sounds like a good little meet you lot had going at this show! But urgh, Birmingham... :-)

Indeed it was a shame,I to was look forward to it, but I've learnt the hard way what it costs to push to far, at least I got home had a nice hot soak in the bath and it's not hurting to bad at present, as it stands I won't be walking for a day or so anyway.
Perhaps catch up at next years AR if I don't venture into your neck of the woods over the summer.
Cheers Mark.

First he puts a sponge bunge in your ear, to protect the ear drum, then injects this stuff that looks like blue tack, waits for it to set then pulls it out. This then goes off to London so the ear plugs can be made from the mold.
The last time it was the silicon that they used, so you could take them away with you, but the new stuff they use is a lot softer and more jelly like so I think that's why they're sent off

Sounds nasty Lou, I think I'll stick to the rhubarb/custard foamy ones :-P
Honestly, they really are worth it. I wouldn't ride with anything else, so worth the couple of mins discomfort. I find my riding so much better too, as I'm not concentrating on engine noise (I have a problem with worrying about revving the engine too much, which I know is silly).
I'm damaging my hearing with riding, so these will help stop any further damage.

(I have a problem with worrying about revving the engine too much, which I know is silly).
Do you mean the loudness of the revving or just fear of damaging something?
Bit of both! Mr Lou is always telling me to red line it, but I just can't until I have the ear plugs in, then can manage it easily! And then the helmet noise doesn't bother me, so I can go faster too!
Does all that make sense? Not sure it does to me when I read it back!
Shouldn't you be writing your assignment? Or have you finished? Or putting it off?
I've brough work home but surfing is much more appealing!

Lol makes sense, I just wondered. I was told by my CBT "instructor" that I was too gentle with the throttle, mainly because I seem to have a problem with loud noises and didn't like giving it loads of revs...yet I love YC's bike which is a hell of a lot louder! I think it was just a bit different when I was in control, even though I knew I couldn't go anywhere with the clutch in

Sssssssh, I am sorta...

Have you got a proper 'can on your trumpet? They sound lovely with the arrow can. Makes the bike look a hell of a lot less gay too.
Errrrr, no! I've still got the original on, I'm afraid I'm a bit of a 'prefer it to look the way it came out of the box' sort of person.
But I have started thinking about exhasts, ever since Kwakzzr told me to sort out the SV can. (read that as took the p*ss out of having the standard can!!;))

Sorry didn't come to meet up peeps, was not a happy human being to be around, slid the bike down Tescos car park in the morning! and did some damage, all because they forgot to grit in the morning. Convenient.

For me it was one of the best, kept the bikes away from the other stuff in a seperate hall which was much better. Sat on Gladys, nice but not comfy. I did like the riding position of an R6.

having said that..if i had a bike to buy for, or didnt have an injury and could have done the mini moto racing thing i would have been a bit happier....that mini moto racing track was awesome!
ive posted some pics in the photo section too
there was nothing i needed, and TBH none of the new bikes impressed me that much (the repsol blade was ok)

I liked looking at the bikes by Carole Nash, the modified ones, and was interesting watching those guys making that bike.
