Ok so this year I will be away from home and therefore dont have a fixed address for anyone to send cards to... but I sat down to think about it and I dont actually send Xmas cards anymore by post.

I hand them out to the people I'm going to see around Xmas time and obviously close relatives but, I tend to use emails and texts around Xmas time...

What does everyone else do these days??

I hate them. Useless bits of card that eventually just end up in the bin. Goes for all cards really. Hate them all.

Humbug! :p

Think of the poor printers! In this time of economic hardship it's your duty to buy xmas cards (I could care less about you sending them out though ;) )

Can you tell I work for a printing company :D

I have a class of 30 kids to do cards for with my son. I don't send them personally, unless someone else has. I send them to my friends abroad though.
However I have had a question from an asian colleague..he said why don't xmas cards have traditional scenes on any more?, I would like to get one with wise men, and camels, and a star, but the wise men should look like men from the east, with big beards, Where did all the cards with mary and Joseph go?

So I am now looking for a card that fits the bill, so he can have one from me this year. I know he will be happy to recieve one too:p

But if you're going to actually see them then what would be the point of a card as all the card does is say Happy Christmas and New Year which you would be saying to their faces anyway. Makes more sense to send cards to those you won't see so they know you've thought about them.

However I'm old fashioned and do both but only give cards to those who I think would appreciate them i.e. pointless giving them to students who just use them as bonfire fuel. I have elderly friends and those that like to display their cards so I give them to those people.

I send them at work, I had a brilliant idea for a design, which a graphic designer turned into something really triffic. I haven't got one at home so tomoz I'll scan one in if I remember. Follwing merger the new firm is known as Goode & Austin (I'm the Austin) - I took the iniitials G&A, turned the A into a Christmas tree and put a star on the top. All in gold. Very tasteful, feel suitably honoured if you receive one:D They go out about now cos the logo is sat there staring people in the face for 3 weeks, so very cheap advertising.

Sorry can't resist...an alternative nativity card perhaps, showing a modern day version?

My better half makes all her own cards to send out but i would rather give £20 to the Dogs Trust & just wish people a merry Christmas when i see them. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u61/offordc/1971_dancing_dog.gif

I don't, and haven't done for most of my adult life. The only people to get a card and present from me are my kids and girlfriend if I have one at the time.

I set my Facebook status to "Bah, Humbug!" so I don't have to wear my t-shirt saying the same thing and personally visit everyone any more.

Modern technology - amazing stuff.

Good card design Ed.

I send cards to all my family and also any friends who are abroad/I won't see over xmas. I cross-stitched a card with a snowman on for my parents this year thinking it's something they'll keep and use as a decoration for years to come.

The whole greetings card industry needs to fold (see what I did there :P)

Its a pointless, waste of resources scam that just keeps being made bigger by the invention of new days to celebrate.

We now have phones, email, webcams etc, why send a piece of card throught the post?

Ooh my mother would be very upset. She has a mobile phone but doesn't know how to use it. She doesn't have a computer. So how should I send her a birthday card:confused:

I simply don't bother, rather spend the money of things that are more important.

My workplace frowns upon the giving of cards to colleagues, they also frown upon bonuses apparently.
