You say the starter is 'kicking', what do you mean by this?
Are you sure the engine isn't spinning? Has the bike been unused for some time? Was it running correctly when previously used?
First take the spark plug out, and with the bike in gear push it along a few feet - does the engine turn? If yes, then clean, gap and refit the plug and retry starting.
Get back to us with some answers and we'll have another think.

as sid says, not sure what you mean by no turn over at all? i guess you mean its not siezed(?) but is nothing at all happening?

check to see if there is a spark, then check to see if the carb is getting petrol

Well if it was diesel then I'll be surprised if it starts again, as it does bad things to petrol engines. Depends on how much was put in and what the mix was, sometimes just iffy fuel from a garage is enough as it happened with the wifes Duke. Drained the tank and put a fresh lot from shell in and it run lovely, dumped the old stuff as even on inspection it looked nothing like diesel and didn't have the same overpowering smell as petrol. Even leaving it standing it didn't split and show up any water in it, just one of those things.
