View Full Version : Gorgeous!... But...
Well, Here's me new Lust in life! The styling is to die for and the stripped down bike gives me goodpimples!.

But the claim it's "All American" is a little ironic when it has Swedish suspension and Danish Supercharger and an Engine designed by the Germans. (why didn't Penske do the suspension if it's supposed to be all American?)
I also find the claims that "if the guys in Europe and Japan can do it then there's no reason the USA shouldn't be able to too" is slightly off when they've had to add a supercharger when the Boys from Europe and Japan do it (and more) normally aspirated.
But the sound it's making in the video and the looks still have me won over. But at that price you could have a Desmodeci or a honda NR.
And Buell are flogging them with a very similar spec for about a quarter the price of the Roehr.
Whadya think?

that is pretty good looking and sounds great too! why would they supercharge the engine when it can be done in a normally aspirated fashion? are there any advantages?

Because they're using an industrial Harley engine. I wish they'd leave the bugger alone.
Accordingly the Porshe designed Harley VRod engine was only producing about 120BHP which they considered wasn't enough to compete so they supercharged it to get about 165 BHP at the rear wheel.
They had a previous bike that was running the standard VRod engine before this one.
And the Supercharger inlet manifold looks like it was cobbled together from a Quality street tin, by a man with parkinsons, in Mits, in the fog!

Good job the man in charge of the rest is as good as he is!
$50,000 though?

Best of luck to you mate!
Anything based on a Harley engine is an overpriced piece of carp.
You're going to need a big wallet and a big toolbox if you plan on riding one of these like it was a Japanese bike.
Not to mention.... You'll be in the back of the pack whilest riding.
(if it's anything like a Buell)

You seen Harley have now bought MV too?! I hope they leave it to themselves....
Note: I haven't got $50,000 to spend on a bike and haven't bought one. Just in case the opening line suggests this :D

Which, in this case, may not be a bad thing. ;)
Must admit... fairly decent styling..... for an American bike.

I don't like the styling personally, everything looks too high or maybe it's that the bike is too short. No doubt 180bhp will be quick, but as mentioned... the Japs have been making that kind of power N/A for a while now and the bike's are lighter than this one too!

No, no, no.
H*rley driveable engines are NOT industrial in the slightest.
The term you are looking for is AGRICULTURAL.
So they've got a bike with all the disadvantages of a h*rley. and you could still beat it with a £1000 GSXR1100M. Same power naturally aspirated, that won't rattle your face off. Without the problems of a very expensive blower.

See, there are some British firms who build custom bikes set up so their spec is more like a WSB paddock rather than some gash american trophy cabinet or on the back of a trailer. Then again, I suppose their bikes need to be gash to outshine all the sports jackets and whitened teeth.
See it in streetfighters pretty much every month, a good hypersports bike RUINED by some septic with too much cash and a chrome fetish.

I quite like this. It looks dated, to me, and a bit clunky, a bit like a prototype 916 before they added the pretty, obviously with a big dash of MV Augusta in it too... but it's OK. The numbers on the engine are decent, it's too heavy though but I can forgive it. Should be an interesting ride. Can't see much in it to get excited about mind, except for the price
I like the way they gloss over the real development of the LC Harley engine... The project was started for Buell, but as it developed it got bigger and heavier and more cruisery til Buell decided he didn't want to use it, and so it became purely the Vrod engine. So now these guys are building a sportsbike with Buell's rejects

You never know, give them 20 years and they might build an engine to match the jap stuff......
....from the 80's.
