Have to say not had time, between work, dog and Xmas shopping but I am having withdrawal symptoms.
Anyone else having the same?

I am missing both my bikes. Since falling off I've not been my usual all weather rider. Suzy hasn't seen daylight since the Catherine Wheel rideout, and Dave hasn't been ridden in a month. He'll need defibbin!!

I'm missing mine - it's on it's trickle charger as I had my gallbladder out a couple of weeks ago, then fell and broke a couple of ribs last week. Will ride it before christmas though, I'm determined.

Haven't even had chance to get to know my bike properly yet! Doing your test at the end of November is a bit of a bummer
nah............. thats why i got the trials bike, and blade-doph will be out on sunday:p
Anyone else having the same?
No.
It's only been 218 days since I saw my lovely stealth bike disappear down the road.
and 259 days since I actually rode a bike I can call my own*.
*Only had one test ride on one of those naked CB1000R thingys in the summer.
Surprisingly even though I loved being on a motorbike and it was a huge part of my life, I seriously don't miss having a bike now. Yeah, now and then I'd think it'd be nice to have one and cut through traffic.

I really miss mine over the winter. I keep hearing me rev it in my head. That stubby can is addictive
I went into the garage today with the intention of taking my bike into town. I pulled the black bike out and went to fire it up and noticed the healight was a bit dim when I turned the key, tried to start it and got the old clicky noise form the solenoid - Bike No. 1 plugged into Optimate then!
So... dragged the white bike out of the same garage and went to fire that one up. Turned the lights off before I even turned the key, hit the start button and got a faint whirring noise as it struggled to turn over a measly 250cc - Bike No.2 on housemate's Optimate then!
In a fit of hope and faith in all things motorcycle related I spent 10 minutes dragging my trackbike out of our other garage nearby. Now bearing in mind this bike has no alarm, no lights, indicators or indeed anything that may drain the battery, I was rather optimistic. In with the key, turn it on and the neutral light glows bright, press the starter and whoom, she starts first time...fantastic. I gleefully ride it over to my driveway and park it up while I go inside and get my riding gear on. I come outside, am just about to pull my lid on and at this point it decides to cloud over really badly looking like it's going to rain. As the bike has an ASBO (daytime MOT), which says I can't ride it in conditions of darkness or when light is failing, I could only put it back in the garage and search for the bloody car keys after getting out of my bike gear... bugger!
I'm riding one of them tomorrow, I dont care which one but I am. I might even take all three out.

Christmas time is in full swing now....busy shopping/decorating/visiting etc.
"Parties for hosting, marshmellows for toasting and caroling out in the snow" and all that sort of thing.
Something to do every minute......
Missing mine too...although I will ride it sometime this coming weekend.
Still haven't fitted my DL hanguards. :(
Did source up some longer than stock bar end bolts so everything will bolt right up. No cutting or such.
BUT...We are going to ride and we are going to fly this weekend.
Great road nearby with a spot or two to get some good air (both wheels) like those at the IOM.
Those who are injured I understand, the rest of you: if you miss your bike, get back on it! I understand that riding in this weather isn't as fun, but you learn a lot by riding all year around. If it's too cold get better gear, if you're worried about ice/sliding, just be smooth!

Well I have got a good excuse - It's a unicycle at the moment!
i've ridden my bike no more than 5 times this year, last time was august, and i'm not missing it at all. think its time to get rid!!!
I watched "Long Way Down" on Sunday and that made me miss getting out on the bike. I'll definitely ride it over the Christmas break.

Its forecast 7C on Friday Dizzy, might get out, although Im off work Thursday afternoon, so might have a quick whizz around if dry..

Well, my batteries are both charged up, and later I'll be going for a trundle. Before I go I'll whip the batteries off the trackbike and the little black bike as well, and get them on the Optimates to save them deteriorating.

We are already making plans for the new year, big scary plans...
So far we have come up with this.
Step one: Buy me a cheap and battered 125 so I can do some training and take my test.
Step two: Pass my test and get Silvie restricted.
Step three: Rebuild and repair Carol's GTR1000.
Step four: Go for long rides together in the summer, possibly even in Europe.
It is an ambitious plan, having a crash during training last year and then moving to a new city made further training hard. Time flew by and then I find myself sat with a big bike and no license and an urge to ride away into the hills. I miss my bike, but then I have missed it since last May.
So as of next year I will on the prowl for a cheap 125, something fairly hard wearing given my progress so far and easy to fix when dropped, crashed and maintained by Flakes! :smt040
not ridden my bike since about February when the chain snapped. Then had to wait for parts to be found. then get someone to fit bits. then it was transported down south to await my move. once I moved to same country as bike I was pregnant and couldnt fit into leathers. roll on better weather next year.
im missing been out on a bike & i know treacles missing his zx10

haha i rode Dave a whole ten miles today. It took me a few attempts to get him started but he didn't need defibbin! Good, as hes not been out for a month
Ah well, be off out again tomorrow :-)
I was going to keep mine garaged for winter but riding the push bike 26 miles a day isnt as fun. So out it came and the fun has began :)

Have had to wrap my bike up, probably until mid April. The weather here is -36 C (-45C allowing for the windchill) and we have had nearly 600 mm of snow since Sunday. Last year we had 2.7 m over the winter, with half of that falling after March 1 st. But the sun is shining!

End of September was the last time I went out on mine, for NW4!
The next time my bike will be out of the garage will probably be early March when it goes for service and it's first MOT.
I went out 2 weekends ago to check it still worked and hadnt seized up, did 35 miles, filled up with fuel, attached the optimate lead, gave it a massive clean and then tucked it away in the garage job done.
I dont have any real time to ride at the moment because work has picked up at the moment and for me there is no enjoyment in getting cold and wet.
I did drive the A57 yesterday though on the way back from Manchester and took the road past Ladybower resevoir all the way to Owler Bar and another amazing road from their to chesterfield.......got to do that run on the bike in the new year....got an amazing route planned which I'll post up about nearer the time.
I would be very suprised if there is not a regular bike night at owler bar in the summer, its like a mini race circuit with two pubs and LOADS of parking. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=Owler+Bar&ie=UTF8&ll=53.298274,-1.560209&spn=0.002956,0.009559&t=h&z=17

Have got loads of silicone grease if you want some. Easier than fender extender.
Went out earlier for a "test ride" to check lights earlier, ended up with about 40 miles of terrifying my mate on the back lol.

lots of crap and salt out on the roads at the moment.
Hell, i even had my first ever "rear-wheel steps out" moment today. Eeeeek
I didnt roll off though, just like they tell you. I did, however, tense up. They tell you not to do that
It's hard not to tense up. I continually remind myself not to do that when riding in crap weather and for some reason I seem to tense up more if I try to ride slower. Strange. There is a certain speed and style of riding I sort of dial into and I'm an ok rider and everything sort of falls out of place then mr. mobile filters without looking right in front of me and I'm back into tenseworld.
Alpinestarhero
20-12-08, 08:50 PM
Yea, your right zunkus, its hard not to get tense. It felt good though afterwards, i had a little gigle and then thought "darn, those BT021's are good tyres really"

No I didnt go far. Since I was alone for the majority, I decided to work on my confidence with cornering and islands and stuff. I am cr@p on islands and always seem unsmooth since my off. I cracked that today, very happy with my ride.
Then I met with Kwak and went for a short ride with him, where he showed me up and left me standing LOL. I must have been on Zuky for 2-3 hours tootling around.
Getting out for me today was just to get me back in the saddle, must only have done 200 miles since my off.

Wooo Hooo!!!!
The weather finally cooperated and I managed to get in about 100 miles of twisty country lanes this afternnon.
Was great fun. No traffic at all so I was a hooligan on the bike today!!!
Had planned to go for a short ride then come back and fit my handguards but the riding was so good I just kept on going.
Had been about a month so I can't tell you how great it felt just to be out on the bike again.
Hope some of you had the chance to get out as well.
