as some of you are aware i had to go for an operation a few weeks ago however this never happened, it ended up to be another pre op examination?
today though it is happening ive got the operation at 12, im a little nervous but should be ok. the only major issue is that my bike has to stay put in the garage for a few weeks :(
im not sure i will cope without the bike, i suppose though its a good time to do some routine maintanence

best of luck with the op matey - hernia wasn't it?
I've been lucky enough to be completely bird-flu free for weeks, but the weather has been so ****e, I've not ridden for nearly 6 weeks. If it's not soggy and foggy, it's bright with black ice everywhere, so maybe if you weren't having this op you'd still be unable to ride due to this shiiite weather.
Then again, you live down south so there's probably bright sunshine, exotic birds in the palm trees, pretty ladies wearing santa style bikinis and drinking cocktails...
I've only ever seen the signs for milton keynes on the m1, what's it like?

Careful not to catch the Winter Vomiting Bug. There are 2 hospital wards in east anglia that have been quarantined as there has been outbreaks there. :)

All MK is missing is a long sandy beach with guaranteed sunshine and it'd be perfect. It has everything else right on your doorstep.

Good luck and heal fast.
Leave the bike until you are fit though, it leaves horrible scars if you split something because you are too keen to go out to play. Trust me...

All but some decent roads...You have to go to Ayelsbury and Bucks for that.
Good luck Rory.

Nothing when its quiet, can't be dealing with trying to get me knee down under a transit van.

Glad it went well.... thats an awful long time to leave clips in, they`ll be driving you mad by the 29th and I anticipate you looking for some method of removing them yourself :-D

Good point, should be done by a Nurse at your GP surgery 14 days after the operation.

Quite easy to do yourself, especially when they are itching!

Good bunch of people. They do Thursday evening rideouts to a variety of places, sometimes ending up at my local bike club. They've a forum and organise the odd trackday too.

In the summer we usually ride out on mondays, tuesdays and thursdays weather permitting and then all go for a drink on a friday! Weekend rideouts, trackdays and green laning! Anything bikes really! lol

I had the same, was expecting key hole surgery and came out with a scar about 10cm long!!!
As the others have said take it really easy, it was a fair few weeks before i felt fit enough to get back on the bike

My hernia was quite a bad one which is why they didn't do it key hole. My scar has faded a lot now (op was about 5 years ago) as scars do but obviously it's never going to disappear.
