A whopping 530 quid to insure it because I only have 1 yrs no-claims after having company cars for donkey's years.

That'll be me selling the car then.

Anyone want to buy a very clean and tidy Ford Maverick 2.7 litre, intercooled turbodiesel, 5 door, 4x4, 7 seater estate with 10 months MOT and 3 months tax for very cheap? I only recently had a new exhaust fitted from the cat back. FDSH history til 140K and local garage since then. Runs superbly and drives like a much newer car. It's actually made by Nissan, and we all know how reliable they are. It has a few scratches here and there (some scrote lightly keyed the left rear door but it's touchable), there's no major body damage.

Its a 1997 GLS model with pretty much all the toys you'll need - C/locking, PAS, air-con, e/windows all round, sunroof, CD player, factory immobiliser, towbar with single electrics, alloys etc etc

Make me a sensible offer over 600 quid and I'll leave the bottle holder and mobile phone clamp in place.

Is it a manual or automatic?

Hmm, well I just banged it through Go_compare for me, and it came out at £281 Third party fire theft with ZERO no claims, or £261 Fully comp with 1 year no claims. Thats parked in a driveway, 10,000 miles, no security, no voluntary excess.

I think we are similar ages (ahem closer to 50 than 40), so I wonder why your quote so high?

Possibly something to do with my postcode, not the fact I'm 46. My bike insurance went up by 20% when I moved here.

It does about 28-30mpg. It's actually a GLS model and the ad has been modified to suit.

However, it looks like it's been sold now to an orger. :D

At that price, I'm surprised you have any arms left ... ;)

I don't mind admitting that I have made a small profit on it, but it has sold for about half its book value, so the new owner is getting a bit of a bargain.
