I've been lurking about here for a week or two but thought I should post as I've just passed my test this week and I'm on the look out for an sv :). As its a first bike I'm going to go for something around the 2k mark and just have some fun with it. So hello people

Will it? I've been looking about on bike trader etc and 2000/1 curvys appear to be around my budget. Thats trade though, as being new to bikes I'm a little reluctant to buy private.

Thanks for the welcome guys, and the comments on the name, its a mitch hedberg reference (there's nothing scarier than a soft focus monster :))

I thought it was because you'd run over your own foot! But then, how could someone do that?!?!

Welcome, if you haven't already, check out the For Sale section for cheap, well looked after bikes. If you buy from someone on the forum & it all goes horribly wrong, you can always shout & scream at them in public then. :)

Agreed. Good effort.

Give it a rest, it's getting a bit monotonous reading your slight comments in every other thread.

have a look on ebay, just for some idea of price

or better still buy one off here in the for sale section;)

I did see that 06 on here actually, someone got a steal. I'm in no rush and I'm going to wait for the right bike at the right price, be it private or trade. I'm in the midlands, leamington spa, if anyone would be prepared to offer there time to look at a bike I would be more than happy to repay them in beer tokens.

Thanks for the welcome guys

No such thing

I am, of course, meaning you'll get a fuel injected bike which works well. However, it'll look stupid. All those pointy edges....eurgh

carb'd bikes are more curvy and look better. yellow ones go fastest

Speaking of yellow ones, I'm probably going to have a look at this one next week as its just down the road from my parents' where I'll be for xmas.http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/bikes/SUZUKI+SV/Ne-2-4-7-8-27-64-104-133-146-236,N-239-4294967165-4294967252/advert.action?R=200840319862408&distance=4&postcode=dh1+5ps&channel=BIKES&make=SUZUKI&model=SV&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2001&vehicleRegLetter=Y Anyone want to offer there opinion on it (granted, there isnt much info in the ad)? I also saw a very nice yellow curvy at stratford rugby club today.

Also, for the folks near me, anyone suggest decent places to buy kit? I'm in need of a lid and was going to have a drive over to midlands superbikes tmrw to generally have a mooch about there stock, both bikes and kit.

As for my worst photo, suffice to say it was a hair metal theme night and no one should ever be made to where pink spandex. It will never be seen on here. :smt072

Midlands Superbikes is probably a good place to go to. We pop over there fairly often, and last time we went they had a few SV's. Their selection of kit is fairly good too.:D

Gratings.

That's a nice looking curvy on Autotrader. However, I'd try and get a dealer down to £1800 at the most (what I paid for mine a couple of years ago). Especially as the 15k service is quite a big one.

More importantly, it's yellow. Good choice of bike that!

Well, back from Midland Super bikes, bought an AGV helmet but the Svs they had were a little out of my budget, a pointy at 3k+ and a curvy around 2.5ish. It was a decent drive across though and I'm sure it will be more fun on a bike.

We were half thinking about popping over there today, but didn't know what time you would be there, and you wouldn't have known who we were, so we went for a ride instead:D Yeah, their bikes are a tad on the pricey side sometimes. Is there nothing for sale on here that's suitable?

Not at the moment, a couple of decent looking nakeds but ideally I want something half faired. I'm in no rush though, just gonna keep my eyes open and I'm sure something will come up.
