??
My two favourite sites:
http://proxy-list.co.uk/ - this one categorises the proxies in terms of their ability. There's pretty much nothing on proxy-list though compared to the next one...
http://www.xroxy.com/proxy-country-GB.htm - this one takes so long to load that some browsers (like Chrome) think the website is actually down - very good list if you can get it to open though.
I think it's probably best I don't disclose why I know of those proxy lists. :)

Baph, that could be handy, I'll give it a go this evening to try and watch some of the old top gears.

How do you chose which site to use? I just want to watch the BBC i player...

That depends which proxy you use really. For example, if you go to http://www.proxy24.org ... it'll ask you for the page you want to view.
Or, if their the older style Socks proxies that you're looking at, you'll need to change options in your browser to use the proxy.
NB, proxy24 isn't based in the UK, therefore iPlayer doesn't work with it. From a 30 second google, you need a Socks proxy to use iPlayer. Perhaps PPTP would be the best bet for iPlayer.
