hovis is Ok- I made an error in the title- no accident or anything-

I am a numpty and this thread title needs changing- oh merry crimbo as it is now 2.15 am on christmas eve





was Just in Stafford. (near Stoke you southerners! )

and saw this place..

so made me think - if Our resident org clown was homeless and begging on the streets, how much would you giv him and what would you tell him to buy with it. ?

maybe I need to start a " eulogy to Hovis" thread .. and see what folk would say about him ..

its down the alley shell.. across the graveyardy bit near the law coursts-

it is actually a very evry nice quaint cafe-

some japanese were taking pictures outside of it.

The thread title might want to be changed, from the main page it reads 'hovis down and out...' which is not nice.

Oh, just noticed that other people have read this too.

as we are not able to change the title now..


it is in photos not idle banter but still a shock i expect- I wasnt thinking along those lines when I posted it. .. i was thinking hobo- tramp- down and out which is what Hovis is !

Yeah I know it well, just round the corner from my hairdressers. Nice little cafe. Stafford has some hidden treasures..... and me of course !

SOUP KITCHEN

This is a 16th century eating house, situated in the old quarter of the town in Church Lane. The staff may be friendly but the ghostly resident is a little more on the volatile side!

The Soup Kitchen's ghost - affectionately known as 'Ethel' - certainly lets her feelings be known! It is said she is responsible for turning the hot plates on and off and for the objects that often fly from the shelves! Better duck if she takes a disliking to you then!

An apparition, witnessed on several occasions, has also passed across the entrance hall where the old dresser used to stand.
