I need to get so new ones kinda quick, mine have devloped a split down the inside right leg, doh! Its getting bigger.

Any suggestions or ideas of what would be good ones to get? They need to water proof/gortex or better and stand up being used a lot. Need to have a removamable thermal lining and can be washed if need be.

I must have done about 5-6000 miles in these ones at least probally more.

richa monsoon. never had a prob with mine and do all of the above. Warm as toast, removable inner trouser, very waterproof, as tested the whole of this year in monsoon type weather.
Come in different lengths IIRC About 89 quid

Oh and crashed tested too. Didn't rip or even scuff
or if you cann push the boat out Halvarssons. Got their Graffiti jacket and its the dogs dangles, worth every penny spent

Spada are BRILLIANT.

They are very reasonably priced, very very tough and hard wearing, very very warm and water proof and very comfortable.

There not much more can be said, go try some, see them for yourself, and be humbly impressed by them.

I have these

The only thing they dont have that you want is removable lining, they do a slightly more expensive pair that do have removable lining though.

I wouldn't recommend the Richa Monsoon. Mine were letting water in through the ar$e in the 1st couple of months. Granted it was in some of the heaviest rain I've ever seen, but they're not completely waterproof. Then again, the rest of my kit let in water as well (except for my boots) so maybe it was one off those things.

I've done just over 6k in them and they're still standing up strong, no problems with the zips/liner/studs etc.

They do have a removable liner and are warm enough without it until it gets really cold. If you're on a budget then they're probably OK (around £100), but if you can stretch to Gore-Tex, then I would.

For the price of spada I vwould be interested to know their abrasion rating and longivity (wrongword?).
I had some buffalo ones for £30 that was probably one of the worst purchases I've ever made, I then bought some Raven ones for about £25 that look smart, are really comfy, are warm and on first test (really really bad rain) surprisingly water proof. Unfortunately I half killed my bike shortly after buying them and I'm not back on yet.

Well I'm passing J&S tomorrow, so I can stop by there and try on the whole shop like I usually do, then I can to HG from house, so hopefully I'll find something.

In the mean time, I'm gonna look for something to stop this dam hole getting bigger!

Gaffer tape?

I'd go for halvarrsons, I already have a jacket from them and it's brilliant.

Just a quick suggestion, Richa Millenium......

I have crashed in a pair, they are 100% waterproof, comfy and have leather over the main damage areas (knees, hips, bum etc), plus, I had a 1 year no quibble guarantee. Had a minor split in the waist band, took them back and got a straight swap.

Downside, being Richa they are expensive, but IMHO well worth the money. I have heard good things bout the Halversons gear too.

I've just got myself a set of Akito jacket and pants for around 200 quid. Thankfully havent tested their abbrasion resistance yet, but they are toasty warm and a lad who wore them all last year recons there spot on for their waterproofing. Come with a removable thermal and waterproof liner, loads of pockets and nice little adjustments to the fitting.

cheers

I hope you didn't get the same ones I did!!!
I bought Akito jacket and trousers, they let water in like mad zip's burst on trousers (both legs and the fly zip), pocket ripped when I turned around and caught it on a fence, not good at all.
They were very warm and comfortable but if it can tear that easy I wouldn't want to test it in a spill.

I was about to buy some Buffalo trousers for about £30 but thinking twice now, what was so bad about them?

Awful I got through 2 pairs and gave up on the second. First pair the zip was knackered so they got replaced week later the zip went on the new pair and I didn't bother send them back. They fitted like clown pants, the removable lining didn't fit right it twisted and moved so were generally uncomfortable on or off the bike. The armour wasn't fitted well and they somehow started to bobble and of course my major quibble with them they were as waterproof as my boxers. I got absolutely sick of having a wet crotch wherever I went even if it was only a 2 minute shower!
On the plus sides they had four big pockets and they were very thick (felt weird on the bike) but I fell off at extremely low speed and didn't feel much.
I'd go with spada, raven or lewis - they are all good budget brands - I have some decent raven one's as said prev. .

For the price of spada I vwould be interested to know their abrasion rating and longivity (wrongword?).

I have Spada textiles and would second G on what he says. Regarding crashability, I have a Spada jacket I bought over 10 years ago and had my big off in it. I hit the road at 40 odd mph (estimate - I was doing well over 80 when things went pear-shaped) and slid on my forearms before rolling onto my back. I was unharmed except for a broken ankle and usual bumps / bruises. I replaced the armour and a friend repaired the torn areas with cordura and kevlar thread, it is now still very serviceable so I keep it as a spare. For me that answers the abrasion and longevity question.

I have a new Spada jacket I bought in 2007 and it is warm, waterproof and appears to be at least as well made as my previous jacket. I have Spada pants to match and rate them very highly.

You'll be able to get them online (probably cheaper) but I got them from a shop called on 2 wheels in sheffield.

Been using Hein Gericke Cruise Gortex trousers for 3 years everyday. Bought for riding through winter again (had always had leathers/waterproof trousers before, top protection but more hassle and not as warm/waterproof).

Plenty of adjustment on leg and waist(ahh!Beer!) , removable thermal lining but still enough room for proper thermals when its really cold or big distance. Two big pockets. Two huge zip air vents down the legs which is a blessing when it gets really hot, (not this ****ty country) so I tend to wear them more instead of just cutting about in jeans.

Best thing for me is they are bib n' brace so you get extra protection but more importantly , warmth round the kidneys and back. Especially with a sports bike riding position where your jacket can ride up your back. (HG changed the zip size from my older jacket! Pretty sure they said they would send them away to be changed free either way..........never did.)
