Not even managed to get past NYE and I/we have already started making plans for 2009...
Me and a mate have decided we're definitely gonna do a weekend camping at one of the bsb rounds - maybe cadwell. Also, we fancy something abroad such as a trip to assen for a long weekend.
Me, the missus and another couple have chatted about a 3 week tour of the U.S. in summer but we were hammered at the time - although it has been mentioned since so it could be a possibility if start putting hundreds of pounds a month away and stop eating for the first half of 2009...
I bought tickets to see Take:That and Basement Jaxx for xmas (take that for vicky but they are pretty good... today this could beeee,.... the greatest DAY of OUR lives...). She's on about getting tickets to see the ting tings as well :)
Hopefully I'll be able to get my hagon springs and gsxr thou shock fitted to the bike within the next couple of weeks (if YC will have me around for a full day )... They've been sat waiting to be fitted since October ffs.
I AM DEFINITELY COMING TO THE AR09 (as long as the weather is ok and it's not in the outer hebrides )
So, what have you lot started planning/already have confirmed for 2009? Let's get excited :)
breakfast so far mmm cornflakes hahaha.

holidays and more holidays
for 2009 we have decided we will have 2 x 1 week beach holidays (one with baby dappa and one without), we have decided on olu deniz with baby dappa, and are deciding where to go just us for september - so far its vietnam, jamaica, st lucia, egypt or morroco but not decided as of yet but its exciting.
also as standard will be taking the mrs to italy for valentines day (i travelled all over for a year when i was 18) so this time i think i will take her to firenze/florence.
defo attending ar09, even if its tipping down and is on the isle of sky!
thats it so far really - want to be looking at changing jobs / training in something else but given all the joblosses think its worth waiting a lil while where im safe.
towards the end of the year.....start trying for another baby...maybe...possibly.....
I'm making the plans, Pete just rides the bike:D
Looking at the South of France at the moment and the Pyrenees. Think the pound needs to improve against the Euro a bit though!

Book tickets and hotel accomodation for Donnington Moto GP weekend

Congrats to Anna and Fillipe... best wishes to both of you.
My main aim for 2009 is to be signed as fit for work in January and get back there! Would like to do both the AR and the Ecosse rideouts, also at the planning stages of a European holiday with Mike
Less importantly aim to get the kitchen, bathroom, lounge, hall and landing and my bedroom decorated :D

Plan a few ride-outs in Devon.
Get to as many of the SW ride-outs as possible.
Go on 1 sunny holiday with Kate.
Buy a house with Kate.
Do 2 or 3 track days (Anglesey, Donny, ?).
Maybe get to Donny for the GP.
Go to the Wheelie school and an off-road school to improve my bike control.
Possibly do the California Superbike School or some other form of track training.
Buy a CBR600RR.
All in all it looks like an expensive year!!
Do more trackdays (only managed 10 last year)
Do the NW200
Do the TT
Do Assen
Do AR09
Do more foreign trips
Maybe find a job if I can be ar5ed

during the day, hopefully off to yorkie c's so he can show me how to fit my new springs and shock then bugger all to be honest matey... no one has any money after xmas/nye/recession etc...
I did fancy go karting but I reckon I'll get bored going round on my own, so the missus has decided we're having a birthday dinner just me and her :) not really fussed about a big birthday bash cos it's always the same every year. Thinking of doing a weekend in london in late jan with the missus since she's never been.
Well spotted at the paul 6th thingy :) I am a saddo...

Nurburgring trip. I've been wanting to do this for the last couple of years but not got round to it
Think the pound needs to improve against the Euro a bit though!
I had been planning to go on the ring trip if one was arranged this year but its not sounding promising, and the Euro problem was another factor that was making me question the whether this year was the right year.
so.......
Possibly nurburgring trip, but more than likely on hold unless a trip does get arranged (I wouldnt know where to start)
I have just bought a full set of spare fairings and about to get some crash bungs. Just need to tart the fairings up abit depending on how bad they are when they arrive and I'll be ready for a few more trackdays this year than normal without the fear of wrecking lots of expensive parts.
To replace the nurburgring trip if that doesnt happen, my back up is to go camping/B&Bing on the IOM for a long weekend. Not during the TT, maybe during the Manx but preferably when nothing is on at all, just so that I can enjoy the roads without suicidal people.

Take new missus to see Cirque du Soleil (already booked :D)
Enjoy a better year than 2008 was.
I want to go to Amsterdam in the summer as well as Spain. And of course AR09.

Me and a friend have a plan floating round to ride from john o groats to lands end, on C90's and B roads.
Maybe Wacken, or maybe Isle of Man again (possibly manx GP..)
Other than that, build a 7-11, get the RD400 on the road.

Nah doing it on proper heap of $hit bikes would be way more fun.... maybe not the actual riding but for the adventure of it (yes I should still be about 11...)
And yes we thought of it before top gear, and they stole me and my mates game of setting off car alarms! Hmph!

Right my plans are to make up for what I didnt get done last year.
Buy a new bike (Jan/Feb/March)
Sort injuries out with some intense 2 wk physio course (Feb)
Week off hopefully playing out on new bike (March)
WSB at Assen in April
Scotland on the bike (May & June)
Try and get in as many BSB rounds as I can, possibly camping. Croft and Cadwell are definites, and hopefully if its fair weather Mallory, Oulton & Donny.
Hoping to get away with Gem sometime over the summer, planned a few camping trips etc.
Might even make it to AR or to NEAR09 depending on where and when they are.
Im just hoping the weather is going to be super.
Yorkie, I had similar ideas of a trip around Britain on a C90 too! Thought about it while I was laid up last summer after reading a piece Whitham had written in a mag about touring Scotland on fizzies. Reckon it would be great fun.
Paul, Happy Birthday for today. If you're doing Cadwell, then I might see you there!

Cheers matey, had a really good day fitting springs and shock to the sv with YC (despite silly silly silly silly **** ups when putting the bike back together which resulted in having to take it all back to bits again ) and then had a b'day dinner with vicky & parents. Massive thanks to MissYC for supplying CAKE! and tea to keep us warm in the -3 temperatures of sunny halifax. Also a big thanks for being so patient with me when I nearly turned into the incredible 'screw' hulk (lost my temper when I kept dropping screws & bolts)
Sounds like we're planning a few similar bits to you (camping at cadwell/croft & maybe a trip to assen) so if you fancy meeting up for a beer & bbq, give us a shout :D
Plans for 2009 are uncharacteristically advanced:
Upgrade the GSXR750 to a GSXR1000 (unless something else takes my fancy first)
Clear the last credit card balance from my stoozing adventures
A weekend in France on the bike in May
A week in Spain or Portugal in June
Glastonbury, as usual
Grand Prix des Frontieres at Chimay (probably) in July
A few days touring with some mates in the Alps (probably, not sure when yet)
A Nile cruise and a trip to Cairo toward the end of the year.
A trackday with the RGV.
Go me!
Stole my idea, minus the C90 though lol. In all in one avoiding motorways as much as possible.

no plans made, other than to survive the year without physical mental and financial harm
blew most of my savings on the holiday last year so this year will be prob a week cycling down devon/cornwall way, if the euro/pound improves significantly may go the crete for a week september time but thats highly unlikely.
its a wee bit doom and gloom to be honest. all conversations with friends/down the pub etc are all about work and its stability, quite depressing ...
oh i may paint the hallway in spring too.

Mine, in no particular order.....
Pass exams rather than failing them. :(
Have a good holiday with the Mrs to make up for missing the TT for the first time since 2002.:(
Ride more.
Finsh the house (just decorating to go).
Hopefully demolish garage, build new, and sort out field so we have somewhere to sit out, BBQ, grow veg and get a horse in and out of it (all subject to money and planning permission).[-o<

quality, well we'll try get a few rideouts done before camping at cadwell, break the ice sorta thing. Vicky's uncle Ste (and possibly simon & rita) will be coming from yarm & guisboro so it could end up being a decent sized group of us ploddin along to cadwell :)
Assen sounds good - will need to do some more research and financial planning before I commit to plans with ste.. ... .

We'll sort out cadwell nearer the time - we just need this lovely arctic weather to feck off so the pennine massive can have a post winter reunion ride :)
1st holiday abroad for me in 10 years, and the 1st with Verna (Olu Deniez, Turkey) in June, booked and paid for.
Erm other stuff we'd like to do...
Long weekend in France around St Malo in the car, camping.
Some time in Cheshire visiting all the bits that we dont get to see when we visit Vernas Brother
A trip to North Wales (Either car or bike, dunno yet)
Long weekend in Devon, on the bikes, camping
A couple of trips to South/Mid Wales (Didnt get there at all last year) with a few mates.
The AR09
And if Verna wins deal or no deal (She has had the audition and is waiting for the call!!) then maybe a trip to South Africa to see her aunt!
What i am missing (Due to me being in turkey and would also be cost) a trip to Austria with some mates on the bikes.
