A little dab of ACF-50 with a paint brush will help with the corrosion protection, just keep it off the pads and disc's.

ive used that before, woozle introduced me to that, trouble is u can see it on the engine and swingarm and it looks like u have an oil leak.

Too thick a coating, I treat my mastercylinder with a thin coating of ACF-50 and it leaves it semi-shiny not greasy.

Scottoiler FS365
Not as good as ACF-50 as FS365 is water soluble which means after every damp ride or wash you have to reapply more, not the case with ACF-50 as one coat will last a year (or more).

ACF-50 is used on military boats, ships, and aircraft which just shows how good it is.

A hair dryer to dry the calipers with, great idea! I''ll have to see if my girlfriend has a spare lying about...:thumright:

Quick question tho kwak, d'you wash inside the caliper with the cold water as well - pads, rotor etc - to get all the road salt etc out?

Cheers! :)

We have a deck and I keep asking my husband to put a ramp up so I can get my sv into the living room. I think it would look great, and also I'd clean and look after it more.

He's adamant it's not happening though.

Another use for a hairdryer I've thought of...

To warm the chain before lubing it!

Hairdryers are starting to sound an essential part of a motorbike toolkit heh heh :D

Don't forget to do it on the kitchen stove, overheat the oil and stink the house out for a month.

Did that many years ago... still paying for it. :smt021

It's high temperature stuff (about 200 degree IIRC) so probably not, BUT it does mean that the salt will disolve and get into every little gap - so best to rinse with cold first to wash the salt off then go for it with the hot if you like.
