View Full Version : Cheap and cheerful DRZ anyone?

Been thinking of selling my DRZ for a little while now, ever since buying the KTM it's not seen much use and the garage is looking very full!
K5 DR-Z400SM, first registered Feb 2006, 2585 miles
Originally purchased from P&H M/C by another forum member, purchased by me Sept 2007
The good:
3x3 mod done
James Dean Jet Kit installed
Forks rebuilt and hard chromed due to stone chip Dec 2007
Official suzuki handguards / exhaust heat shield / luggage rack
Goodridge braided lines front and back
ThumperTalk Case Savers
R&G LED brake light
R&G crash bobbins front and back
Rim Tape (removable if you don't like it;))
Suzuki service history, oil last changed early this year at 2300 miles or so
New Varta battery this spring, remember to use an optimate!
The bad:
Fell off earlier this year, there's a thread somewhere - minor cosmetic damage on mirror, both crash bobbins, footpeg and brake levers plus barend and handguard
Bar mounts were damaged meaning the bars are a few mm out - should be easily fixed with a new pair of mounts but it's un-noticable once you're moving and if i were going to fix it i'd probably just upgrade to the renthal bars they fitted to the K6 and onwards bike
Looking for £2100 as it is...
Will update with pictures if there's any interest?

essentially it's exactly the same as that except i'll be re-fitting the stock exhaust and has a few scratches on the parts listed above
those them tyres wont be much good in the mud

TLW - why has your ghey SM DRZ got a butt-plug in the exhaust?
Someone's after one see the 'is it wrong' thread.
He's already bought one

have you looked through biketrader, mcn etc? i have and i can't find a cheaper one for sale, and they're all much higher mileage - if you want to take your chances with an ebay special that might be running on sunflower oil then be my guest, if you're just here to take pot shots i'm not interested...

you'll have to have a go with the 560 one day, even with your ample frame on it i reckon it should be able to spit you off the back in no time...;)
anyway, you ride a honda, therefore you opinion is null and void:smt019:mrgreen:

Sorry I was thinking more 'cheap bike' not 'cheap drz'. You're right - misread the title somehow!

Ohhh cutting! :) An SM may actually be a good idea for the tarmac'd lanes around here. (No i don't want to buy yours!!)

no worries, cheap is all relative anyways

sold it for a bit of cash back in oct to built my new computer, so unfortunately not available, you can still get them from any Yoshi dealer or from the USA though, not sure if they're as cheap as they used to be after the exchange rate got messed up. the stock one is almost as free flowing without being as offensive, as someone described the DRZ with the yoshi pipe: "all fart and no ****"

that's fine - i don't think it'd pull you up the hills anyway:p
for the roads we did on NW4 you want the 950SM or a superduke, a proper SM would be our of gears pretty quick on those roads and the light flickable handling would be wasted

Quite right, last cheap bike I had was under £200! lol
Bugger, bugger and bugger. I've just bought a new one of these, pick it up on Saturday. But really wanted the yellow one, had to settle for Blue, as that was all that was left. Would have gone for a slightly older one.
Never mind.

pickup one of these (http://www.ccmmotorcyclesuk.com/404ds-supermoto/index.php) sunday hopefully, not new, but cheap enough.
Cheers Mark.
Im shopping for my new bike, and at the moment it looks like its going to be the Versys. I would love to have a DRZ/CCM in the garage though, just for hooning around town. I dont think this obsession with trail bikes is going to go away until I own one.
