View Full Version : January 2009 Photo comp.
Thanks for all who voted for my firework pic.
This months theme is to be Black/white. It can be any form of black/white photography such as converted from colour or maybe infra red.
I will start off with one of my fave infra red b/w pics of a friends car.
Good luck to you all. If you convert from colour just remember to up the contrast as it can help a dull pic look a bit more exciting at times.

anywho... took this in the town of chamonix in France. It's the nearest french town to mont blanc which is the tallest mountain in europe at 4,810 metres. Because the peak of mont blanc is on the french/italian border, there has been a long dispute as to which country actually owns the summit... Chamonix is also the site of the first ever winter olympics which were held in 1924... :)

How about something like this....

Seems quite flexible, so maybe could be used when the usual forum poll isn't up to the job. :-?
Wotcha think Richie?

when you go to sign up, you still only get 10 options for the free version... unless you part with lots of Cash... $200 per year for unlimited poll options.
cheers for the thought, but even if we did do a poll off forum then how would we know who voted?
I think the software people at vBulletin® might have an answer (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206636).

my photo was taken at Niarbyl on the Isle of Man, quite close to Dalby.
Here is a website page about the place
http://www.iomguide.com/niarbyl.php
If you use Google Maps, you can search for bayr niarbyl. Follow the road to the coast & you will find where I took the photo
Piece of advice. Don't take your bike onto the car park at the visitors centre - its gravel & treturous. My mate (with nearly 30 yrs riding experience) almost spilled his Varadero as he entered the car park because the ground shifted from under him. You can take your bike down to the shore.
