Its one I have seen on Ebay, I want something to replace my massive 17" CRT monitor, which means I can get rid of the computer desk as that only really holds the moniot and is taking loads of space and using loads of power.
Thx, here is the link;

never heard of them so they might be good, might be crap, personally i wouldn't risk it, for a little more you can get a brand name monitor from ebuyer:

i've had good monitors from LG and Samsung before, everyone will have their preferences
there's a massive thread on LCD monitors on AnandTech:

also, unless you plan on watching films only on it i'd suggest you get one with a 16:10 aspect ratio, definitely avoid 16:9 if you want to play any games as those resolutions aren't usually supported (or supported well)
And at those prices look closer to home and get a better priced one in the sales, would hate to suggest them but for something that can be taken back if it breaks, PC World ;)
i have seen a lot of naff LCD's. do yourself a favour.. save a little bit extra and get a good one.. i have a samsung 2232bw and never regretted spending the money on it...
saw this instore yesterday..at least it froms tescos and its a know lg brand and its bigger at 22in

Never heard of them sound chinky crap. I bought a 19" widesscreen benQ monitor from phoenix-comp.com for about £80 last year. But they're based down the road from me.
Failing that as said ebuyer.

Hey thanks guys, I don't actually play that many games anymore and not for lengh of time either, so I guess I don't anything that supourts games that well.
My computer is 4-5 years old anyway, so really anything new probally won't work on this anyway.
I think I may go for the LG one, which from tesco, I have seen the simalr for sale for about £100, for the new 19" one. I think 19" is more than big enough, will be nice to get rid of this huge monitor!

your 17" CRT won't actually have 17" viewable size anyway, a 19" monitor will look fine, a 22" or 24" monitor is actually pretty big if you don't have a huge desk to put it on
I think I may go for the LG one,....
Strangely enough I have been toying with the idea of getting a TFT for sometime and decided to do something about it today, PCworld lost the sale when no-one wanted to go and find me a Dell 20" wide screen so went into Comet up the road from them, 10 mins later I have an LG 22" wide screen at £20 cheaper :D

How much did you pay for yours? If its the same price.....however 22" might be a bit big.

I've got a 19" Yakura which I purchased from Ebuyer after my last LCD went pop, well just sort of died.
Perfectly fine, no problems, comes with a warranty. Like you I don't place great demands on it, by gaming on it.
Slighty more expensive than yours, but prices have been coming down.
Check EBUYER for prices, at least with them your get a good returns policy. I've never had any problems with them either, although someones bound to have had.
I go on the reviews that people have left about the products on EBUYER as a general guide to how good or bad it might be.
But there's good deals to be had on loads of stuff at the mo. You pays your money, yer takes yer choice :takeabow:

£117.43, this one (http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/471003/LG-W2234S-BN) so far very impressed with it on XP & 2K, ok on NT4 & Win98
Go for a known make and if possible go somewhere you can see it running. I have bought cheap in the past and regreted it. I now have a Prolite E26" IIyama and cannot praise it enough.
If I was still in the market for one I would definitely not buy cheap but big again.
