So, I've finished Fallout 3, almost done Crysis, don't know what to play next

TBH the only reason i made it through fallout was because i love post apocalyptic fantasy and you could play it in a similar way to an FPS, i can't do potions and wizard hat RPGs:(

May I recommend "Left for Dead". Its a superb romero Zombie nightmare that you can play alone or on line and its brilliant. Check out any review and you will see how good it is.

I believe it is still available through Steams download service at £20.

I am nearing the end of Fallout 3, which I am enjoying immensley. I have also started Red Alert 3 which you can play co-op with a mate over the internet using skype or teamspeak. Ace fun, really tongue in cheek stuff. CoD 4 multiplayer is awesome if you want FPS. You also don't seem to mention Crysis Warhead, or Far Cry 2, both of which are worth a punt. And soon there is Diabolo 3 coming and Tom Clancy's End War. Hope that is enough for you!

just make sure you do everything you want to do before you enter vault 87, the story kinds of rocks along for a bit then spontaneously combusts, then it's over before you know what happened

it is, however, pretty epic so i'll forgive them the abrupt endgame sequence:mrgreen:

I play Delta Force Black Hawk Down. But I've never played single player. I always play online on "team king of the hill" maps.
The game is a little laggy online but it's brilliant fun:mrgreen:

-COD 4 (dont play it online, its just carp online imo...)
-Farcry 2 (its ok...)

that's a reet laugh, i'm also waiting for black mesa and goldeneye source, but they're taking so long the source engine is going to be out of date by the time they finish it, the CryEngine 2 is already huge leaps ahead and as hardware improves it has headroom to be even better:(

I still think the source engine is more than pretty enough and more than just a gamer geek rigs can run it without it looking like FinalDoom...

i had far cry on pc played it 3/4 the way through then the bloody disc stopped working peed off about that but it is a wicked game the later far cry's arnt as good i reckon aswell.

Other than the ones already mentioned like Fallout3, Left4Dead, Call of Duty 4 (all of which I currently play), F.E.A.R is quite good and I believe there is a sequal coming out soon!

Team Fortress 2 is also pretty good, but only if you have mates to play against. It's basically just a frag-fest with constant killing.

Steam is a good way to see what games are available and often they are cheaper there. My steam login is TazDaz (suprised? :)) feel free to add me.

FarCry2 is dull. Nowhere near the quality and playability of Crysis. Really wanted to like it but after doing a bit of Fallout3, it really puts it in the shade. Would not normally touch an RPG (if thats what it is) but what it is, is one of the best games I have ever played. 45hrs in and I am hopelessly addicted.

Crysis is still the daddy (non alien stuff for me) and I still replay levels. Warhead is more of the same but unfortunately even more alien stuff and a lot shorter. GTA4 I instaled (horrendous installation)and took straight back off again. Maybe get into it after Fallout and I get a better PC.

Stalker was good but so buggy/crashy I never finished it, but the one I would recommend. Must only be a few quid now.

still play the first few levels even now, loved the stealth tactics, picking off the enemy soldiers one by one without getting rumbled - once you get involved with the monsters it all gets a bit silly and doesn't play nearly as well for me

Looking in game in the budget section i saw, Heros of might and magic V and mirrorwinters night 2(I have a feeling that is not what it is called!! lol)
any other ideas or are those good starting points.

Still playing Fallout 3 but I am trying to do and find everything before I carry on with the story. So far I got some nice Tesla armour and a weapon and also found a crashed UFO, complete with dead alien and awesome alien blaster! That game rules.

Have still got Far Cry 2 to finish but I get bored quite easily of that one, it's so..........brown!

Of course I keep going back and playing the classics like HL2 and Crysis, I must have completed these two games at least 20 times a peice, Crysis is so great.

In my case, buy a new bloody computer :lol: You can change the details etc on it, maybe you ought to try that?

try changing your settings or something like that...;)


we need more info if we're going to work out what the problem is:mrgreen:

what exactly does the error message say?
when does it appear?
does your computer meet the minimum requirements of the game?
is your computer up to date, operating system patches and drivers etc?

any info you have makes it easier to work out what's going wrong:)

I highly modified it so I can put a disk in and then use dvd2xbox and voila the game is on the hard drive so no longer need the disk. Purely legal ofcourse! :batman:

So I noticed people here tend to like the man part of crysis and not the alien part. I completely agree: I actually like first person shooters that are as realistic as possible. My favourite all time game was Operation Flashpoint. Anyone play that? Online, they had made a mod called CTI (Capture the island) that involved teams of 10 each side building a base with a commander and you had to find the other team's base over the whole huge island. It took hours but was the best game ever!

nothing quite as satisfying as playing a silky smooth version of a game that's been properly pirated while people who actually bought the game have to contend with badly written, poorly executed and easily bypassed DRM protection:mrgreen:
