Guys/Gals, What are the best kevlar lined jeans to get? I have sen many brands but they all seem very expensive!

I realise that it is frezzin outside but i thought that i would be able to get a bargin at this time of year - By the look of it online that isn't the case.

Perhaps I'm a skin-flint but £70+ for a pair of jeans is a bit much!!

Any Ideas?

I've got a couple of pairs of draggin' combats and practically live in them. Couple of crashes and they're still fine just a bit scruffy.

you get what you pay for................ draggin or hood seem to be the most populur, i got a pair of both, but did not like the fit of the draggin, so sold them, i think you need a size bigger with draggin (or i did)

yes but theres no 'jean' left on the knees anymore:eek: I keep telling you I'll sew some beer mats towels on them;)

I like Draggins, I only wear them throughout summer, as i like to be dry n winter;)

I've been wearing some Draggin Jeans...mainly as they seem to be the most wellknown.

Little bit of advice from my experience though, don't buy them slightly big expecting them to shrink in the wash. Mine haven't shrunk at all so now I have to wear a belt all the time (or get fatter)! Can be a bit cold with the windchill etc so only really for warmer weather!

I have some hood, which are heavy demin with the kevlar, plus knee (and hip?) armour. Wore them for short journeys last summer with no probs. Bit cumbersome for a days work though. Bought some draggin a couple of months ago, they look great, and are less bulky, but wearing them doesn't inspire me with confidence as much as the hood. Having said that, I intend to get some forcefield armoured undies to go underneath.

I had Shoshoni jeans in the 80s but I wear draggin jeans nowadays. I got 2 pairs and love em. I dont often wear leathers (rightly or wrongly) but Draggins and a textile jacket with Dianese back protecter does me for most days. Quite like the idea of the draggin combats. I do scruffy well!

The hood clothing sounds similer to what the shoshoni's were. I got them from Althrincham but havent heard of them in many years. I stopped wearing them when I grew outwards and not upwards as hoped.

And yes .......memories of Suzi Q from my younger days. Leather catsuits suited her perfectly.

I've got a couple of pairs of Hood Jeans (concept 6), can't fault them at all. They're nice folks to deal with too. I asked for the second pair to be made a bit wider in the leg to fit over my boots, and they did it with no problems at all. Never had a spill in them but there's plenty of aramid protection in them to inspire confidence that they'll hold together if I ever did come off in them.

They are a bit bulkier than normal jeans, due to the extra lining, but I wear mine to work all the time with no problems. It might be a bit different with the armour in them, I've not got round to fitting it yet.

Is it just me or have women got better looking since 'the old days' ;)

I thought £70+ for a pair of Jeans that will be much better than normal jeans in an off was quite reasonable.

Especially since a pair of Levi's will cost more. :)

And yes Pencil Shavings Women have got better looking since the old days.
I keep seeing 16 year old girls and commenting to my friends that girls didn't look that good when I was a school. Oh what??? Errrr No I mean they were much older ermmm Im not a perve errrrr *runs away*

£70 for a set of denim jeans is way past what I pay, but for motorcycle clothing it's pretty cheap. EU approved hard hats cost more than baseball caps. Both cover your head though ;).

I have a set of Hood Jeans, they're a bit baggier than I'd have liked, so I'd probably try before I bought next time rather than mail-ordering. They're good to wear though, I use them for short hops around town even in winter.

Aye much more than about 30 miles in this weather though and it gets fkin chilly. Might just be because mine have a lot of holes in them.

Why? What's different?

Why? What's different?

Much better feel to the workmanship, stitched full denim pockets, larger protection area's, stronger denim. Has been a few years since I owned a pair of draggin, jeans, but after owning the hood's I'd not go back unless they have done something amazin since and looking at there website it seems the same.

Red Route and Voto are other makes which are also very good if not as well known, the Voto one have kevlar material like cycling shorts inside, rather than the patches like some which is a nice touch.

More of a make do thing than real protection to be honest, but practical and durable enough in the right circustances.

Cheers Mark.
