There's plenty of places all over the UK that do this kind of thing.
Also I think you can get kits to do it yourself at home now as well.
Where you based?

pour a 2l bottle of diet coke in it, then drop in a packet of mentos*
slam the cap shut and run away*
*may or may not work

I'd go with the latter

Romford, Essex.
I've contacted a dent fixer in Woodford, but the website says nothing about bikes.

The act of poring the cola will agitate it to much and the effect will not work the same.
The is mention of using frozen peas and then adding boiling water but I have no idea if it works. Depending on dent you could get a dent puller or mig a rod on and try pulling that, or just have it filled.

my option was it was cheaper to buy a 2nd hand tank.

That would be about £75-100 on ebay by the looks of it. Wouldn't dent removal be cheaper? There's no paint loss.
Here's a pic.

check these out. Not sure if it would work on a deeper dent but I'm considering trying it on my 7R - the worst that could happen is it doesnt do anything and you are back to square 1...

The reason that a pro repair will cost so much is that the tank is double-skinned.
So not just a case of knocking it out from the back.

Wouldn't recommend air - always use hydralic pressure for things like this. Far less explosive! :smt115

Indeed, an SV tank full of compressed air would have a lot of explosive power.

mate had a restored bsa lightening and it fell against a tree and put a small dink in the crome tank, sure he said they used compressed air to blow it out.

You're playing with fire there though.
If I wanted to do that, I'd fill it with water, then dependin on how well sealed it is either use a grease gun to exert the pressure or compressed air. Dunno whether it'd work with a double skinned tank though.
