As above, it was -3 here and we're almost always warmer than the rest of the UK due to the surrounding water...
Almost got rear ended by a **** going too fast downhill on a notoriously slippery road, he skidded a good metre into the junction i had just turned out of, missing me by a few feet only - thank feck i was in the car:mad:
My ride in this morning was erm, interesting......what I really need in this weather is a light bike, perhaps yellow in colour......now where could I get one of those?

I am still in bed, but then I start work at two and am in there until eight tonight. Yesterday was lovely mid afternoon, so I went for a ride, but it soon got so cold that I had to pop in to a friends for a hot drink. Was riding for close to half an hour before my hands started with the cold aches.
For those of you who have to commute on your bikes, my heart goes out to you. Be careful and take care.
Hugs,
Jayne

Got out of bed, walked up to the loft. turned on the screen and at work. All I need to do is find the time to get dressed some time today. god my commute can be a killer at times.

Was about -8 when I set off and our lane was still covered in compressed and frozen snow from yesterday. At least it wasn't windy today, so less of a wind-chill factor. And whilst public transport may not be perfect, it's still warmer than the bike.

Got to go to work in a while and then come home after eight, by then the roads will be pretty nasty if we are in a for a cold snap. :smt115
So it is time to dig out the winter walking gear...

Well when I left home for work it was -3 and I had to sit in the car and wait for it to warm up and clear the ice off the windscreen as I can't be bothered to scrape or de-ice it. It was a bit cold waiting there so I put my heated seats on.
Had some minor issues getting out of the street as my car is rear wheel drive and lost traction very very easily so I has to push the 'Snow' button which sorted that out.
Then inside temperature was unable to reach my specified 30 degrees by the time I got to work.
And to top it all off the heater at work which I had set to turn on 15 minutes before I get here hasn't even heated the warehouse up yet!!!
Its just awful.

The drawback of my 15 second commute from bedroom to office is that my feet got a little chilly.

Ooooh. The "arctic conditions" *snigger* ;)
We'll always be warm in the UK. We've got enough hot air being blown out of our politician's ar$es ;)

Mind you, we had real winters when I were a lass... :smt019
The snow would start to fall in July and by January, it were four mile thick! :smt040
We used to oopen ta door in tha morning and find frozen a Bluetit stuck to tha milk bottles. :-({|=
Eye, we were poor, but we were 'appy. There were 'undred an five of us 'uddled in shack under ah sack for warmth. Mother would get up two hours before she went to bed and get the Aga goin with the snapped off icicles that formed on gran-mothers nose. :---)
Then Fahver would cut us in two with bread Knife an dance on our graves singing hallelujah... :smt017
Kids today... They don't know there are born. :smt044

You will.
When I got up it was -6, so offered Mr Lou a lift to work (he's usually on his CG).
I have to honestly say that I've never seen him so quick to get out of bed knowing there was a lift to be had!!:D
Wasn't a bad run in on the bike, except the bit over the burst water main. That was a little slidey, if I'm honest.

sounds awful :smt040
We've had -8C around here (according to the car). I started work at 7am.
However, I have a bug that's going around, so concentration/balance isn't up to scratch. I called the office at 5:30am to say I wouldn't be there.
So instead, I took my youngest ice skating again this afternoon. :)
Yes, I did fall flat on my whatsit several times, and felt like crap for going out, but he laughed his bum off! So it was worth it.

i saw the guys next to me spin his back wheel as he pulled away from one set of lights. he wasn't giving it some either, just showed how cold the road and his tyres were.
Next junction has a tight right hander and he went into it just a little too fast...were talking a max of 8-10MPH and down he went. Lucky for him that there was me and a couple of other bikers behind him to halt 3 lanes of traffic squishing him.
Thankfully he was fine and his Honda only had a few scrapes from the slide.
He caught me at the next lights to say thanks again and "I dont need that kind of excitment this early in the morning at my age" and laughed a lot.
God i love bikers

i can vouch for there durability after my off just stood her up again and away she went:)
work...I remember that. :o(
Getting to work isn't too bad - 50-odd miles of motorway, all well salted, just pray the bike doesn't dissolve before i get there and that the salt on my visor stays thin enough to scrape off with a glove.
Walking the dog, however, is another matter entirely...

I walk to work, which has it's moments in this weather, especially where there's a house on a hill who has some kind of overflow running onto the pavement. Its the fastest 3 ft of my journey!

I thought I was gonnahave an off today, there was a load of sludge on the road....water main had burst in the night, made the surfac pretty nasty. Went down with the rear brake on, sliding about very slowly
they only "fixed" the previous leak 2 weeks ago
