Just watched it this morning - have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Sheryl, I had her down as uncaring but she really seems to worry about him.
I know he'd said recently in the papers he was disgusted by Sheryl *using* his son Regan to get to him, but he did agree to this documentary it appears.
I hope he gets himself together it's a real shame.

And here was me thinking this was a thread about Isreal's unjust and one-sided war against the peoples in Gaza.
i was expecting to see a documentary on the ongoing problems with Hamas and Israel.
Can you imagine my dissapointment....
I watched this and thought that she came across really well, looks like he has really f***ed those kids up mentally though.
He was such a genius on the field, it is a shame to see anyone like this.
I watched it but was in two minds over whether to or not. Whilst I think it is a massive shame what has happened to the guy and Sheryl came across very well I wonder what the real motivation behind the programme.

Same here. I think though, if that's why she did it she'd have been in the press a lot more. She's kept herself to herself, apart from Bianca of course, but that's her decision.
I honestly think she's trying to shock Gazza out of it by doing this *intervention style* documentary.

No doubt Gazza was a great footballer, my Dad looked quite affected by it, a player he has watched play from a young age and watched him now fall.
When I started playing football I remember trying to base myself on players like him and Paul Ince.
I once saw him playing funny bugg3rs at a World Cup or Euro, made people watching and team mates chuckle at things like that, he was the one who thought up the song game at Euro 96 with the press. Just the kind of funny man he was and the funny man his lovers fell for.
The obvious motivation behind the program is to break the guy apart.
I do hope that this will not turn into a George Best case.
So much to give to the footballing world still IMO.

Exactly, Paul Gascoigne will be the most successful shearings driver in the UK.
Have you not heard of coaches?
Of course, I just don't think Gazza has anything to offer as one.
What's he gonna do, stroll on to the training ground at midday with a hangover and say 'alreet lads, this is how yous drink newkie b'
I thought he was brilliant as a player. But now I don't think he has anything to offer football anymore.

Knowledge of the game and tips from pros are the best way to proceed as a youngster if you wanna follow that way in life. Although I was a central midfielder when i started out, from the age of about 14 I turned to the sticks, I had training from a goalkeeping coach who used to play for Watford, never played it big time but by eck it helped me, I was able to enter for the England academy when I was 15, I chose girls and booze over it. I guess i now have nothing to offer?
Depends how far down the road to ruin you go mate, Gazza's gone a long way out of the distance. If you spend the next ten years boozing, do you think you'll still be any good to help the kids?
Don't get me wrong, as I said, I thought he was a brilliant player and I'd love to see him back on his feet and in a coaching position - look where Tony Adams is now - but in his current condition I stand by my opinion that Gazza has nothing to offer footy atm.

In the first paragraph my answer is the sentence before the question, depends how far I was to go.
Your second paragraph, the key word (slang term) is "atm". I'm with you, I hope he gets back on his feet and sorts himself out and can be in the position he can coach players, firstly he needs to build trust in family and friends and then fans/critics.
It really was an outstanding documentary - i really do feel for the family - hes putting them tru hell and obviously has been doing for years ....Mason And Bianca seemed really nice as did Cheryl - he was like an ogre....hes in such a mental mess hes got so many differnt mental problems - OCD, Bipolar Disorder, delusional and alcoholic....no wonder he cant cope with the real world ....grim:(

Gazza was one of my heros when i was younger, i think he played his best football when he signed for the Gers and this was backed by his performances for England during Euro 96 (and that peach of a volley he scored against Scotland-I got leathered off my mates for cheering that goal)-but watching this last night has shown how far mentally he's gone over the edge.
The abuse that he's put he's family through over the years is shocking and i think they should be give a medal for the support that they still offered him-i didn't watch the end of the programme because to be honest it had already sickened me enough.
Gazza = Great footballer -Bad father.
I think the problem with Gazza was that even back then, he had a lot of money and fame as a kid. Was thrust into the limelight in 1990 and that was it. Didnt have anyone looking after him and all his so called mates were only interested in squeezing what they could get from him, screwing him up along the way. Unfortunately, it looks like he is heading the way of Best. His football days are behind him. He would be better suited to getting himself clean, addressing his mental health issues and then being some kind of mentor for kids at the Sporting Chance clinic, a sort of warning sign to others as to how bad it can get. Someone needs to get hold of him before he kills himself as he's certainly heading that way.
