They put the stickers on the tank THEN lacquer the ******* :smt019:smt019:smt019
What were they thinking
Anyone got a good idea on how to remove them easily, I have done one side last night and it took me the best part of 2 hours with a hairdryer and a scalpal!!!

looks good. Why you want to remove it? Respraying?
Most manufactures lacker the stickers on the tank, its the panels they don't bother with.

My dad has this problem with the VFR he;s rebuilding....no other way than to just take it off along with all the paint, then when your doing the re-paint, put on a new decal
BTW the VFR is coming along nicely everyone, my dad has done an awesome job of repairing the really quite crapped-up fairings. I think he;s gonna get some new decals from the-image-works.co.uk

I bought a spare full fairing so I didnt have to cut my own good condition ones to fit crash bungs, they have the odd scrape on them here and there so I'm removing the stickers sanding them back to base coat and spraying them matt black.

 you homo, if it goes well it doesnt matter what sticker is on it lol
It's his own fault for buying a Honda.

Why do people have this aversion to drilling holes to fit R+Gs? If they are done properly it shouldn't make the blindest bit of difference to the resale value, in fact having R+Gs is a plus point in my book cos it saves me having to buy them myself. I've fitted R+Gs that require holes drilling to my old ZX-9R and Gixer Thou and also done a few other Gixers and ZXs and a my ex's Daytona 600. Having the panels drilled didn't even figure as anything to mention when it came to selling the bike.
I'd much rather have properly drilled holes on my original panels than put up with a scabby home done matt black paintjob on used panels for the sake of a possible loss of a few quid at resale time.
Graeme, if you want me to drill your original panels properly then just ask, it's not difficult to get right and I've done loads of them in the past.

Oh, I see, you mean like the Suzuki badges? I thought G just meant the stickers rather than the Suzuki badges, e.g. the one above the fuel filler with all sorts of warnings on it. On my K6, none of the warning stickers were lacquered over, and came off with a hairdryer and some pursuasion. The one on the tank was easier than the ones on the fairing, and just took a few minutes.

I don't think your K6 will have the Suzuki stickers I mean. Yours will have the big "S" badges

Yes, you're right, mine has the Suzuki 'S' logo either side of the tank. I've never even looked at taking those off.
Lozzo, I think G's doing them specifically for track fairings? Might be wrong.

Should come off easily - I know I picked the edge of a K6 one and figure it would have come right off.

+ 1, same with fitting Motosliders to a fully faired SV.

Yup, specific track fairings,
I dont want to ride around on the road in 'scabby home painted matt black fairings either' lol
I can drill a hole easy enough, I just dont want to in my road fairings. Not going to get into the crash bung debate again though
I'd imagine they lacquer them on the tank as petrol spilled on the tank will essentially dissolve the adhesive and the sticker would start to peel off

probably right.......I've finally done it now  scalpal and hairdryered them off.
They are all sanded and primed and waiting for warmer weather so I can spray them now :D
Need to find a 600rr Front mudguard as well if anyone knows somebody selling one.
