I used S-doc 100 gel cleaner for the first time today and it was amazing.

I've used either autoglym motorcycle cleaner or muc-off for the last few years since i got my first bike and they are both sh1te in comparison.

It really is just a spray on, wait 5 mins and rinse off procedure - even with a few weeks of winter crud baked on to the bike. The only bit of the bike that didn't come up spotless with the spray-wait-rinse routine was the rear sprocket. To get this as clean as the day i rode it out the show room, i had to give it a quick wipe with a little gel on a rag.

It really is amazing - get some and pour your muc-off down the sink. I got mine at busters on a bogof offer just before xmas - don't know if its still on.

Not tried that, but can agree as to the uselessness of Muc-off.

i've alway's been quite pleased with mucc off but if everyone think's it's so crap i might try some of this s doc stuff just to see worth a go at least.

Yeh S Doc is really good stuff for cleaning up the engine etc. Have you tried it on your downpipe? Leave it on longer then wipe off. Brings it up pretty good with minimal effort

Woohoo, some people that think Muc Off is crap! I found the same, sprayed it on the bike, waited, sprayed water over it and hardly anything came off....what's the point eh...

It is the most pants of all pants bike cleaner. To be honest, the Tescos value car wash shampoo did just the same job cause at the end of the day elbow grease is required. Hopefully the SDoc100 will require less effort and more tea drinking time.

I'll drink to that.......will be using it for the last time tomorrow, unless my SDOC turns up of course.

Let us know how your experiences go. Mine won't be used until it is time for all the ACF-50 to be washed away along with the crud / salt.

i used it to clean my chain also (d-doc) - it was much quicker and more effective than the parafin i normally use. Do u think its o-ring friendly?

I imagine it will be fine, as SDOC100 have on their website a specific cleaner targeted for use with the Kettenmax chanin cleaner system.

This stuff sounds good. Is it ok to use on brakes and discs too?

Muc-Off is simply Traffic Film Remover as used by truck companies. It's ok, but there's better out there.

Which S Doc 100 are we talking about? the one in the white or blue bottle? ones called motorcycle gel cleaner and the other one motorcycle total cleaner or something.

yeah gel for me to. its the gooey gel consistancy that makes it stick to the muck rather than slide off onto your drive. I've not used the liquid one, but i've head it just runs off and cleans the drive rather than your bike - no better than muc-off or autogly.

Ok good stuff, will get some. Are there any shops around that sell it or will I have to order off net? Anyone got a cheap site? Preferably one that sells ACF50 too so can get them together?

Have done, ordered from triumph-online.co.uk with some Osram Nightbreakers, postage was a bit pricy but ordered a few things which made it cheaper

Busters or M&P (can't remember which) were running a 'free delivery' on orders over £25 promotion - ends midnight tonight I think.

Might be worth it if you're looking for ACF-50 and S-Doc 100

Mine turned up yesterday - can't wait to give it a bash on Saturday am. I've been using muc-off recently after being recommended, but it is cr@p on anything other than lightly soiled fairing panels and water alone can deal with that.

The only thing is I was with a sponge, no hose and on the tin it says hose off or something like that?

Chuck a bucket of water at it. Try to get it all off

I almost bought that, but with the £5 postage it dissuaded me...until I can find something else to buy at the same time, anyway :D

And the tyres.

I might give this a go, I've had a couple of muc-off products and been underwhelmed with their ability.

As I said earlier mine arrived the other day and I finally had a chance to use it yesterday.

Absolutely brilliant stuff.

Sprayed it on, went for a coffee and washed off with the sponge priovided. There was no scrubbing required on anything at all. Not even the wheels which normally require WD40 and elbow grease to get rid of filng and road deposits.

I think I was a bit over zealous with it and used too much, but I got it on a bogoff. This is my new cleaner of choice.

I don't have a jket wash but it would be even easier with this or a hose with a jet fitting.....great stuff!

Ok ok, you convinced me, I just ordered that one from Busters with the free refill. Was that the one you meant when you said BOGOF offer?

Yes mate - bike looks beautiful until the commute tomorrow am, when my fresh lube gets re-flung everywhere.

I used almost 3/4 of a bottle, even on the bit that normally don't get really dirty, which on reflection should've saved it for the dirty/sticky bits.

Good stuff.

Used mine for the first time on Saturday, should've taken before and after pictures, my bike was caked with months of salt/mud/crud etc all baked into the ACF-50. It all came off really easy with the S-Doc, even got my chain sparkling!

I did use a fair bit as well though...also, think it may have started my SV650 stickers peeling :(

You used it on your bodywork??

Nobbylad
25-01-09, 08:20 PM
Yep...can't avoid the overspray with a fully faired bike and it says on the instructions that it enhances bodywork/plastics, especially on dark colours (mines black).

Drew Carey
25-01-09, 09:04 PM
So on that basis would you say it would be good to use the gel on the bike, except with the plastics / painted parts use the spray form.....as I have both.

krhall
26-01-09, 08:42 AM
Dc - I didn't use it on my plastics, but mainly because my plastics get 2 coats of wax every week, so even when dirty a bucket of water and Autoglym shampoo and a sponge sorts that.

The engine, and all rounf the back of the bike gets covered in crud and really needs someting and this did the trick.

I used it on everything because my bike really was filthy and the instructions said it would be OK on plastics etc.

I have the gel spray which I bought from HG for £13, it's the gel but with a pump spray applicator and a small sponge.

Mine arrived, two one litre bottles, both with a spray head and two sponges. Very impressive stuff, better than the muc off aerosol I usually use and cheaper too!
