All I can say is that it was cold on my journey home, cold and foggy. In fact those where the main problem, the fog stuck to my visor and it was so thick it just wouldn't shift and I kept trying to wipe it off. Then to make it worse it froze on the visor so I had to ride a good 20 miles on the A3 with it up. Wow talk about frozen cheeks.
So after 12 years of riding in all sort of weather that is a first for me, so once again mother nature has surprised me again.
Jax ran me a lovely hot bath when I got back and slowly my feelings came back.

Did you feel like me with me specks all fogged up, it ain't fun when the lights start getting dim cause of foggy visor and specs... I have to ride with my visor slightly ajar....I know the frozen cheek very well :-(

Jax is very nice to you for running a bath. :-)

I know what you mean. Riding in fog is a surreal experience, like riding with constant blurred vision.

Brrrr I'm feeling chilly just reading this thread. Wish someone would run me a bath :-( although it does sound like you need it more! I can sympathize with the cold cheek scenario too, I've been on the bike with my visor up a bit just to stop it fogging up, have to breather hot air into my neckscarf to keep my face warm lol.

Yep we have a little green A class, but if you have ever tried to get from Portsmouth to Nodnol in the same day and back still with time to do stuff with any other form of transport then you will know why.

Remember when the summer comes I'm the on bike ragging it past you cus I'm riding so much.

But dam it was cold...

lol if I did that I wouldn't be able to see anything, I have to hold my breath at junctions and traffic lights, so i don't steam up...and my lids got an anti fog visor on it. i come home from work on a clear crisp night, and i swear its like pea soup, until i peep over my specs

I don't doubt it! Cold I can live with, for a short blast anyway, but icy, slushy, sludgy, slippy roads, nah...zero fun factor for me.

Well that is with my visor open a little. I also tried breathing in different directions like towards my neck, seems to work quite well. I can think about these things being a pillion you see :-D

I love contact lenses for that reason, though I was worried they would be frozen to my eyes when I got home.

I've actually noticed that since I've been reluctant to ride winter stylee this year, my finger joints have been pretty stiff. I think previous years have had a toll on them. I've been getting pain in my first two on each hand. Yet another valid excuse for not getting the bike out full stop. I think I may be turning into one of them lightweight types :-(

cod liver oil's good for helping the joints i can really tell the difference since i started and i'm 21 good stuff.

i have a high level of hypermobility, every thing is super stretchy, and my joints bend way further than they are supposed to, very supple. I have been toying with the idea of supplements, but they don't usually have any effect

yup was cold, I saw -3 on the outoor temp guage at wandsworth so must have been -5 out of town . Glad I could get off at Guildford & not have to carry on all the way to portsmouth!
Fog wasn't too bad, glad I cleaned my headlight before I set off.
How's the hated jacket Dan? - I find it doesn't do a lot, but I'm thankful for what it does do.
Can't wait for my heated gloves been well over a week since I paid that feckin ebay seller

Think of me being like an overstretched elastic band. If I damage anything I snap, plus I don't feel it. I practically dislocated my knee when suzy fell on me the day of the catherine wheel rideout. I thought ouch, looked down and saw my knee and leg twisted practically right round, thought that was naughty and rode for 200 miles. I got home and it was like huge, it hurt a little but not a lot. Its not until the cold has set in that I've found my knee is damaged more than i thought, but thats how i am. Its the same with my fingers, last month I had them twisted precariously, and though they went black with bruising, and swelled they didn;t hurt, consequences are they hurt like hell in the cold now. I can dislocate my shoulder for fun, from damaging it years ago, but every winter the pain flares in up in it,, and it takes longer to rid myself of it. i'm supposed to exercise the lot in certain ways so not to over stretch everything, but i'm a little lazy on that account.
I'm just thinking of hangin the boots up til warmer weather, , as every year it gets worse, not at work til April anyway. But I aint getting a bloody car, I'd far rather walk

glucosamine has differing views it could be ok for some but not everyone, I got a big vat of them in the cupboard for matt, but the doc says its useless for him. I've yet to find anything that would say it would benefit my condition, theres also enough tablets rattling round inside right now anyways ;-)

edit ..sorry Grinchy I seem to have stolen your chilly thread. I shall stop now

Yes, :( gave up on them . Charging 6 batteries just not worth it, not sure if the don't work, or just my rechargeable batteries or not good enough. So even at only £10 from Maplins I can't recommend them. Maybe better ones are better.

Yeah better ones do like Klan or Gerbing, but cheapskates go to Maplins & spend £10 expecting the world

I have a Balaclava, just didn't put it on as the journey through London wasn't that cold, then when I did get going I was just in that mind set to get home. Hand to make do with the buff.

Jacket seemed to work just fine, and yes its not the hottest thing in the world, but hot enough so that I don't get a nasty chill on my chest.

Heat gloves might have to be my next thing...

This morning though while it was no where near as cold I had to ride with the visor up again due to the huge salt build up. So annoying.
